This build thread is so big, I keep wanting to post up what I did with my 80 this weekend in here.
Size the bar properly, then mount below the TC output flange, build boxed arms that outboard to the outer axle edge.
Figure it out Jose and I'll just copy you. Definetly needs a sway bar if you like taking turns without a clinched sphincter

I have a 29 spline 8" front (nitro) but they did not have a 29 spline rear. Maybe they since added

Lots of good progress today. All brackets cut off. Started tacking up a few of the new ones. Waiting on some hardware to install the knuckles, and also waiting on the shock towers and lower coilover mounts. Cutting off the OEM shock towers and panhard bracket was a pain. Radius arm brackets up on the frame came out real easy.
Driver's side frame all cleaned up. But I cut my rear brake line with the grinder by accident. It was getting dark and I didn't have good light set up. FAK. It's the really long line that goes all the way to the back too. Think I'll cut a section out, re-flare and add coupler in its place.
Panhard bracket really only goes in one place so I started to tack that in. Not much room to get this one wrong so no need to wait for the axle.
You could tell Brian put a lot of thought into this intricate bracket.
You could see the part of the OEM bracket I left in place. No way in hell I was going to try and remove that in between the steering box bolts.

Passenger side bracket that has the 3rd link mount built in. This thing is a BEAST!

Or change it to a Saginaw box mounted on the inside of the frame rail. Or just go full hydro with an orbital. It is all fab any ways right?

I don't even know what is happening anymore.
Whole lotta crap showed up today. Pretty much everything I need to finish I believe aside from the long brake lines which I'll order later. Now it's time to really get to work.
- 14" towers from Barnes, plan is to stuff as much as I can in the engine bay and trim it down to size
- Lower coilover mounts from Dave's Custom Unlimited. Absolutely perfect fit on our axle tubes.
- Chromoly spindle nut and "super metal"
hub stud kit from Trail Mart
- Axle gusset from Low Range, will need a bit of massaging to fit an 80 axle

I've been following your thread for a while now (honestly, who in this forum hasn't been?!). This morning I went back to page one to start seeing how you prepped for the monstaliner (I'm about to do a 2-tone red and black on my '93), when I came across this statement from you in post 6 of page one of your build thread:

Dude...you've come a long way!!! Love how you just jumped in and started tackling stuff. Pretty inspiring as I also ordered the 4x4 labs rear kit with dual swingout, 3 can holder, and tire carrier, and will be tackling that with very little welding experience either! I've got some well experienced cruiserheads in my club though, so all should be fine.

One quick question:
Did you prep with any spray on or roll on coating before rolling on the monstaliner, or just sand down the paint, bondo and smooth, clean thoroughly with the MEK, then line?

There's too much fabrication going on in this thread. Back to how to's on painting body panel plugs and interior parts.

Talk about going back in time! Now that I think about it, I wonder how different this truck would look if I had dabbled in welding and fabricating from day 1. First pages were about LED interior lights and now I'm doing (trying) a 3link
Mine was rolled on. And yes, just sand/scuff, clean and paint. You don't want any bare metal. That should have a coat of primer or paint over it. Also, plastics should be coated with an adhesion promoter, like your side view mirrors. After that give it a good scrub down with MEK. Watch the fumes.
