Any plans for heat shields or coatings/wrap on the exhaust and turbo housing? Everything is coming together nicely.
Yes, have a friend who does ceramic coating. Will coat the manifold, turbine housing and downpipe- then blanket and wrap. Curious to see if my compressor coupler is too close to the manifold, maybe need a shield or aluminum elbow on the compressor cover

Slow progress. Seems like the to do list grows faster than I can scratch them off

Radiator stand off aluminum spacers. My print had them at 2.150", came off the lathe at 2.1505" :D

Down pipe is done. Still need to tie into the old exhaust.

2.5" aluminum pipes arrived for the compressor inlet/air filter. Chinese bead roller for $50, too. Have all of the tube I need to finish the fresh air piping

Exhaust is done. On to fresh air side: TiAl blow off valve location, bead rolling and air filter location- maybe a filter box in the future.

Oil feed line ordered and 316 stainless fasteners for turbine flange

Nice work. Looking forward to seeing it running.
Slowly... Hard to imagine that I installed the megasquirt 2 years ago with the plan to turbo instead of 3rz swap. 5, 3 and 1 year old + vacations and land cruiser failures/projects.

Just need to keep at it

I'll be 3 years into my build this summer. I know what the saying "life happens" means as well. I don't give up either. It'll be baddass when you finish.

Was noticing on my data logs that my cooling system would randomly get up to 220F on first warm up then it would hold 190F fine.

Installed a dual thermostat. Curious if this is the fix- 90916-03070

Compressor inlet mocked up, 2.5" aluminum 45deg bend cut down and 90deg bend cut at the correct angle to make it work.

Ready to start welding thin aluminum 😳

How 22RTEs should have come from the factory 👍

That is normal behavior on mine on cold days. I don't notice it as much during summer.

Garrett GBC22 oil feed fitting is an M10x1.00 if anyone on the internet is trying to find the answer like I was.

Clocked the compressor outboard to get it further from the manifold. Now the oil drain hits a compressor cover bolt so I will need to figure that out.

Oil supply is from the main gallery, post filter. I had the machine shop tap a boss when they were doing the cylinder work

Ditched the spacers up top and just welded on these Intercooler ears/slotted tabs- done and the intercooler is mounted. Starting to practice welding tube on cut offs.

Exhaust manifold, turbine housing and down pipe are ready for ceramic coating.

Faced the head surface and then split the flange, this should help the end studs from leaking/pulling out.

Ignore that aluminum practice in the background...

The 4 tooth cam wheel is engine speed. There is a 1 tooth reluctor next to it but no VR sensor. I bought an OEM signal generator magnet and am going to try and drill and tap it then see if I can configure MS for a 4+1 cam/cam trigger. The 4age distributor did this prior to going to the 12 tooth wheel

Not sure how bad the resolution will be but hopefully good enough for sequential

Looks like DIY Autotune updated their marketing material for the 22RE Megasquirt after the blunder we had about 22REs being able to run sequential with a wiring modification (that I did). Still haven't tried to modify my distributor to pick up the single tooth but I do think that it would work.

Second pipe done. Not pretty.
Ebay universal coolant overflow bottle.

Bov flange welded and cut out.
Intercooler piping is done.

Ceramic coating, paint pipes, crankcase breather/ catch can, wiring, heat shields..

Bought some hose barb adapters and am going to run power steering to the transmission cooler at the bottom of the radiator.

Oh I also ordered a MAC valve 35A-AAA-DDBA-1BA for a boost control solenoid when I am wanting to push things past 7psi. Engine and turbo should be good for 20PSI or whatever I I can end up running on pump gas.
