Hi All,

Planning a bumper build and I know from past builds its best to get the stuff you want to mount first so you can mock up what you'll build.

I am trying to decide on an LED bar and its lighting power. I'm looking for a driving and flood pattern around 20 inches

I am interested in the Rigid product and was hoping to get impressions - good and bad from driver's who have them. Would you do it again or do you like HID's better?

Cheers,

John

I just installed this 30" light bar about two weeks ago. It is made in China, but the quality is good for the price. It is sold by Trail Worthy Fab for $350 shipped, and is just as bright if not more than a Rigid. I still need to aim it, but so far I am very impressed with the light output.

Interested as well, im trying to justify spending the coin on a 20in bar myself!

Also interested if people are running anything other than Rigid, as far as LED bars go?

I've got a 10" rigid spot/flood combo on my arb.
I love it, lights up everything, and basically overpowers my low beams entirely.
However if there are knockoffs for less and light output is the same, go for it. The Rigids are spendy$$$$$$$

There are alternatives - Vision x is another brand. I purchased their utility lights for my roof rack. Got them on sale.

They also make a light bar. I'm okay with a knock off if its got the lumens, IP68 rating and the vibration ratings.

However, most interested if they really light up as advertized compared to traditional halogen or HID's.

What intrigues me is the low low low power draw and compact designs

Got a lot of deer around here so need to sides and I also want to see up the road too.

I think I'm going to buy one of those!

just installed my rigid 40" spot flood combo....and i can practically burn paint off walls with it :D

People are probably tired of seeing my pics, but I have (2) 10" Rigid specters in my grill, very happy with them! 1/2 the form factor of the 20" E series and like 85% of the light.

check out superbrightleds.com ... I know a couple of people that have some of there stuff and it is pretty nice and a reasonable price for what i have seen...

Scottyrana.....Just curious but would the 20" not mount properly or was there another reason you went with this setup?

I ask because I thought about doing a single 20" and didn't know if the mounting points wouldn't work properly.

By the way what type of mount did you use? One of the Rigid cradles?

I had one of these on my FJC and loved it, lifetime warranty is a plus as I did need a repair which Rigid not only fixed but paid postage both ways. They are spendy, no denying that.

(edit, too much info)

I've got a few LED light bars, I love them. They started as generic Chinese light bars, and after a few months of working with them I have changed the design and improved it quite a bit. They have since purchased the design and I am now able to import them at a super low cost. I've thought about a group buy but not sure about interest.

For the cost I cannot lie, they are incredible. I've gone through many different LED Light bars and finally gave up, picked a company and asked if I could rework the optics and see if they are interested. They agreed and I went to work. I went from a 30* spot, to a 12* spot. Changed the front lens material, and improved the cooling aspects. After about 8 months I'm happy, and they are super happy. Hopefully in the future I can gather a team and start making a US made light bar that will compete with the big boys.

They repaired mine once, then sent a new unit when the repair didn't work, keeping in mind the original purchase was of a reconditioned unit not new, but same warranty.

Crazy amount of light.

How'd yours hold up in the incident, fragle?

Look at "ok led light bars" as well I've heard good things about them and a 40" is $499

What kind of problems did you guys have with your Rigids? I have a knock off Rigid, and half of it went out due to a loose solder, wonder if this is the same problem you experienced. They told me to open it up and resolder, but I'm lazy and haven't got around to it yet. Love it still though.

Moisture accumulation inside the lens, always after deluges.

They were very quick to email UPS labels for return, even offered to have UPS pick up.

Excellent warranty service. The second time it occurred, I was waiting on them to email me a return label, and though it odd it wasn't immediate. Was planning to email them requesting again, but when I got home, there was a brand new replacement on my doorstep.
