Just wanted to know if it's okay to temporarily use 87/regular gas with the current prices. I've always used 89 Oct. and occasionally I would switch to 93 a for a tank or two but never used 87 before, any insights would be appreciated.
Looking into possibly getting a snorkel installed, partially to allow engine to run more efficiently, however, not sure it will offer any performance improvement (hopefully), and lastly looks pretty cool. No immediate plan for serious water...
Thanks for the note. I have an older 2005 as well, production date April/04.
Also had a minor drip couple of times but stopped. How hard is it to replace the gasket? Do you have part number for that? Just in case it drips again, but so far it...
I saw your concept drawing for the rear AC redirect, I know it is just a concept but think the unit itself is too bulky. How about something like below? I actually have this on my house hybrid water heater to redirect the cold air coming out of...
That's a huge range. Just saw the write up, says it's a banana 1 job. Just don't want to screw up. There used to be a guy on the Nextdoor app who's a Toyota service tech and working on side gigs for a good price on Sundays using dealership...
I have a 2005. I'm in no hurry since it has been driving great with no issues. If I can't find a brand new, even if a decent used one would work too. I just want everything in working order.
I know by design VSC and Trac Off light up when Check engine light comes on. And I know I have the Bank 2 Cat code. Since the car has been driving with these lights on over the past year with no issues, I'm just waiting for a decent coupon so I...
Been noticing very faint squeaky noise sometimes when I get in or out of my car, or when car turns while over uneven roads, not all the time, and hardly noticeable. Does anyone know where may be causing this? Car has fairly all new suspension...
My 2005 currently has 180K miles and have had the P430 code for over a year now. Replaced two passenger side O2 sensors with Denso, P430 no longer reads, but now instead throwing the O2 sensor code. In a separate post, I'm thinking of just...
My original one was accidentally thrown away when the garage was cleaned out at my dad's house. I'm thinking of removing my current K&N intake and back to the factory box. I currently have the original Toyota MAF top mounted on the tube of the...
I found this factory air box off a 2002 LX 470 and was told it will fit, can anyone confirm? Since this has the MAF attached, will it throw any incompatible codes when installed on my 2005 LC 100?
That was going to my first choice until I spoke to Slee Offroad yesterday and they told me even the premium aftermarket ones like Magnaflow will last 4-5 years based on their experience.
I finally decided rather than all the side fixes or premium aftermarket cat, going to hurt once and get a genuine Toyota cat. Does anyone have any good sources for the best price? Just doing a quick search online, I noticed the price will vary...
Does anyone know if there's a source where I can just get the foam gasket around the MAF? I noticed my 2005 100's foam gasket has partially deteriorated, I think it still has a full seal but just wanted to prevent further deterioration or...
I did find someone on eBay that has the full assembly for about $300. But I'm thinking this over again since I've never experienced any negative effects since I had the K&N and the throttle response has been excellently consistent and clean MAF...
I'm curious if it is worth going back to the OEM air filter box? I changed it to the K & N about 7 years ago (didn't know much back then) but realized it's best to keep the factory air filter box. I'm not sure if my dad threw away the original...
Thanks for the clarification. I think that's why my 100 had a bit of rub when steering is turned all the way with the 285 before the lift. It is no longer rubbing, but I would like thicker side wall so I will either go 70 or need to go to a 16...
