That's a reasonable price.

If you are local, for an extra $1000, we can install it which will include the complete catback exhaust system that comes with a stainless steel high flow muffler and all new hangers.

Ryan, go enjoy your 80. What are you doing behind a computer. I am stuck at work, what's your excuse.
So i guess you are getting rid of your EMS turbo setup and putting a remote setup, that's great. LOL. Anyways, to answer the question... I actually have a couple options for this $1500 price tag. First option, what I did on mine is a Turbo Assembly that is rebuilt with new internals. 2nd option is a quality China Housing with made in Japan Cartridges and Japan Bearing units inside. Both are reliable since I have been dealing with both companies since the late 90's. Of course I also deal with Turbonetics and Garret turbos, however you are gonna be paying extra for them. It all depends on the user and what they want to shell out for their own setup. As far as the intercooler and wastegate I go through CX Racing which again I have used personally and have no issues with. I have one of their intercoolers on my Supra and I have one of their Heat Exchangers on my E55. Both are over 500rwhp cars and have had them for a while. So I do not doubt their performance.

Unfortunately I am up in Washington state, but your DIY kit is a really nice option. Your phone is going to be ringing with that kind of pricing.

Still saving my pennies!!!!

2KC: As you start selling these kits, Are you going to become a IH8Mud vendor?

Yup, love this community. So far.... :flipoff2:

2KCruiser,

Do you plan on offering a DIY kit that includes all the piping as well?

I can however cost would increase dramatically if I do them one at a time. If I knew I had a few sold then I can make them in sets and price would dramatically go down.

Also just came back from a camping trip and will post up how it drove.

Since I like the way you think I feel I need to ask you how you feel about Methanol/water injection for these motors with or without your remote turbo setup. Would you ever consider adding a water/methanol to your setup? Thanks.

Here's an idea for keeping the intercooler clean from mud and all that: So the tried and true way of cleaning the undercarriage that we all know and use is to just set a sprinkler under the truck, turn it on, and forget about it for a while. Keeping this in mind, it might work to pipe a water hose above the intercooler and install a little sprinkler head pointed down right above the thing and then pipe a hose and fitting to the side of the truck. That way when it's time to clean the thing all you have to do is connect a hose and wait while the mud and debris melts off.

I have thought about it, but it would be overkill to what I am using it for. It has been a huge improvement on acceleration so I am happy for now. The key word is "now". Don't know what I might do when I get bored again.

Isn't this the way Europeans go to the bathroom???

Cool thread!

What are your thoughts regarding this setup on an OBD1 93 model?

No chance of fitting this next to the frame rail forward of the axle? Have other plans for the space in the back.

It's possible however the cat's have to be removed completely or swapped to a smaller high flow like mine to make it work. A lot more custom fab work on the brackets, but it can be done. I was originally going to install in place of the muffler however with all the room in the back, just made it easier.

Yea, my cats have already been swapped to a dual inlet/single outlet unit. What about the OBD1 issue?

It has been done before on other OBD1 cars and trucks, but uncharted waters on the OBD1 for LC's.
I would assume it should react the same way but only way to know is to try.
