Howdy folks! We are getting frighteningly close to releasing the rear bumper and have decided it's time to release the data for our swingarms so other folks can start planning how they want to design components that will attach.

Edit: we have spent a lot of time to get this design finalized and will be using these arms across all of our bumpers (80, 100, 4Runner, Tacoma, etc) so if you spend the time to make an accessory you really like or has value, there will be plenty of people who will want it.

We will have these available at launch:
  • tire carrier (short and tall)
  • ladder (with Hi-Lift bolt pattern)
  • ladder cover
  • upper extension bracket
  • NATO can holders
  • vertical Rotopax mounts
  • angled Rotopax mounts
  • Hi-Lift mount (stand-alone)
  • inside stash/gear pocket
  • center extension (to fit tire carrier and Hi-Lift mount on one arm)
We will have these available shortly after launch:
  • kitchenette/tool box
  • Powertank adapter/mount
  • couple other things in the works
Anybody who has any other ideas on what would be good accessories can use the data below to design their parts. We are happy to work with people on this and can provide more data if necessary and there is proven effort on the individuals part. We are open sourcing this data for use by the community on the condition it is used to make accessories for our swingarms, not to copy our swingarms. You are free to sell the accessories on your own, or we can work out an agreement to sell them for you on our site, that is up to you.

Attached below are DRAFT drawings with the appropriate data. When they become FINAL they will be available as a PDF download from the bumper page on our site.

If you have any questions, ask away. But let's keep conversation on topic (this data, how it can be used, any deficiencies, interpretations/understanding, etc), k guys?

No, we will not be posting 3D models of anything. If there is a dimension you need that isn't on one of these drawings, please send an email with marked up drawing showing the data you are requesting to info@deltavs.com. I will get back to you quickly.

Yes, the distance between holes is "wonky". This is because the distance between holes is driven by the 6" height differential and the 60* angle. This is a very easy layout to deal with in CAD, so it drives everything moreso than an "every 2 inches" kind of layout. This supports CNC cutting more than blunt object cutting.

Edited to add this photo so it's clear what the drawings are for. This is the mounting surface for all of our attachments and components. The drawings should provide all the details so anybody can make their own attachments.

Im the end will all the arms be interchangeable as our needs change?

Hauling bikes is always a challenge so I would like to see a (vertical) dual bike rack on one swing out.

Hey Phil, what do you mean by interchangeable? The arms themselves? Or the stuff that gets bolted to the arms? The above drawings are for the upper part of the arms, I'll edit the OP and add a photo of where the drawings sit relative to everything.

The arms will be replaceable at any time (if something were to happen to one), the attachments that bolt to them can move around all you want too (unless for some reason you decided to weld your tire carrier on or something).

Nobody has ideas for what they want to add to these things?? Or you just all keeping quiet?

To be very clear (if it’s of concern to anybody), we are not doing this to “get ideas for new products” or anything like that at all. We have a pretty clear product development path at the moment, and don’t have the time or resources to add to that. I know @Box Rocket had asked about a way to mount some kind of recovery device previously, that is the kind of thing driving this release.

Anyway, would really like to see this community come up with unique and useful ways to get things done, and support anybody who wants to sell (or freely distribute) those solutions, or use for themselves.

yeah I had mentioned possibly a way to mount pull pal or other type of recovery land anchor. I can also see some wanting ability to mount propane tanks, bike carriers, maybe small platform for tools like chainsaws. The other obvious stuff like fuel cans, rotopax, maxtrax etc are already covered I think. Maybe a tank mount for those that carry CO2 tanks?

I eat lotsa curry burritos when i camp- And would appreciate attachments for a Case backhoe. It takes quite some time to dig a big enough hole for my morning constitutional when camping and a backhoe attachmwnt would speed things up. sometimes the curry makes for a hurry....

I think attaching the unimog would be a better bet

I'm guessing the center extension works with either arm? And does it get in the way of the opposite swing arm? Noticed on IG you only had one arm mounted on the pic with the center extension with tire carrier.

Very nice design and concept. Is this a bolt-on installation? What is the price for a right-side tire carrier and a left-side jerry can holders.

Best way to get pricing info is to sign up for our newsletter, that is where I will be making the first announcement. Sign Up Landing Page

On edit: just read the rest of your questions. Thanks! What do you mean by bolt on? The entire bumper? I will kindly ask that we keep this thread about the arms themselves and any questions related directly to them. There are a few threads already about the bumpers, I’d rather not have another floating around (good one here: Delta VS rear bumper sneak peek)

The center extension does indeed work with either arm. It is designed to work with one arm as a way to carry a tire and hilift attachment on one arm. Haven’t actually checked clearances to see if it would fit with both. Will do and report back.

Here's a (terrible) photo (please excuse the haphazard nature of it, nothing is lined up correctly) that shows you can have an almost continuous mounting platform across the back of your rig.

this is awesome.

Now that I have one of these bumpers on my truck, I can really see how more things can be added. I think a few more of them need to get into the wild and people will see just how awesome they are.

Kinda link an "blank piece of paper (with gridlines)", eh?

Indeed. I think it's better than any other bumper I looked at + you don't have to cut the frame. Well done, guys.

may I see a closeup shot of the swing out latches, if allowed? They look interesting from a distant!

I have this picture. Not optimum light. I was showing where I put a back-up light.
