Not really certain what avenue travel, but feel a lower profile signal on the top of the fender is a must, at the very least.

Ron had suggested VWs, which promoted a Google search resulting decent options that cast forward and to the side, but all curved bases.

Need carbs for further thought.,.

look at big rigs;) old Macs and Freightliners...I'd have bit if but for the coin...you can find some real charater-having antiques that would also be very functional if you set your mind to it. It just some steel, plastic and electricity;) I have not discounted custom fender mount signal buckets as a Fab-Mod....

not insulator, but on base of carb...one of those 3 ports on the vacuum tube rail of carb...

Gotcha now....

is that Trollhole? ask him which one is vac advance...

Yes. I've been unable to reach him. Had been trying for the big cap and a few questions that other thread perusals promoted, to no avail.

After a conversation with Jim C., him confirming that he could rebuild an OE 3F Aisan but couldn't test it, think I may have a line on one, but trying to confirm part number to make sure it doesn't have the HAC....

Plus, going to put OE dizzy in. Didn't think I had the time to find, but the latest delay proved me wrong.

I know those guys with aussie 60-70 series had some info on this you posted in...

Trying to find it.

Wayne's has complexity to it that is well beyond my pay grade and he wasn't familiar with, either.

Not sure what this is...

The others I've seen, don't clear up much for me....

I'd use that auto zone canister and vent valve as pictured above personally. Then delete 76 VSV and vacuum surge tank and early/old/non-functional;) 30+ year old charcoal canister.....

Gotcha.

About to cut the 80 can apart and pack with aquarium grade charcoal, then reseal it, since they're NLA and I don't care much for the other options.

Option here?

This feels kinda ghey, but....

I'll try to dig up that aus vacuum diagram and yes, the early Vdub is kinda indy-rock;). the later is more palatable in my op. but the big rig lights have some real character to them if you can find em...might just check local reqs and end up doin side markers and grill indicators...maybe just grills...

Ha. the last pic says a "60 series" but shows a pig...not sure about the distributor hook-up based upon these as there seems to be a coninuity issue with the pics...one shows dizzy at inside back left in pic, the other shows base of carb above throttle plate...might make more sense to you...

the OVCV opens when engine temp is warm enough via BVSV to allow vapor to manifold(key on)see if there isn't another vac port at the base of carby...for advance...maybe you carb only allows for one canister and already has advance at vac tube rail...check to see where they come out in the bore in relation to throttle plate...

I'm getting lost reading this on my phone whilst watching football, but just to be clear you plan to desmog this correct? No reason for any of the emissions crap in OK correct (realize another story in CA)? I think my vacuum routing was simpler on my EFI 3FE after desmogging than what you guys are posting :(. I used the big ass charcoal canister off a 62 FWIW -

the only thing emissin related in these pics could be the charcoal can, and you'll want that- at least the one anyway. the rest of the vac is for dizzy and a/c. you should not need the computer or vac switch in those pics, just do green wire mod or use fj60 computer operated by fj60 vac switch to operate fuel-cut decel function. FWIU, Jim recommends using the decel unless you get backfire on decel, then to do green wire mod(which keeps power to idle solenoid when ig is on- fuel cut decel cuts idle solenoid on heavy vacuum{decel}) essentially a desmogged 2F without HAC, but with EVAP and vac advance...the 62 still has EVAP when desmogged, and vac advance, but no idle up for A/C...it's easy:p

Tuckers on the same track I would take...but if you found some toyota-ish lights to cut-into the grille, you could do that too. I'd bet there would be several models of yotas in yunk jards around that would have suitable marker lights you could do that with. FWIW, I have thought about the simple rectangular LED marker type lights for that spot, ala suggested by Tuck..they would work well and not look terribly out of place...

The holes they put in the '69 Pig grille happen to fit the factory side marker lights used on Pig & 40 very nicely!

Wire it up for turn signal using factory parts...

Fuel fill is on wrong side for Pig...

Since I can't drive it, nor begin working on it, leaves only taking about it, so..... Roof is caved in and appears to be from an impact of some sort, as it's pulled the seam on the DS enough to expose rustable metal. Repair of replace? Any clues on where one could find the center cover, ring, or whatever this is coined? ASCOs are gonna need some love. Can't tell if this is residue from the carpet underlay, some kind of adhesive, or a rust inhibitor, but the pans all look phenomenally good compared to any of my others. Rocker rot (will be calling, Bob) Now, a dumb one, or at least flame-able. Can I convert to lower grille signals, like the earlier grilles, by simply cutting the depressed area out and mounting lights behind in, what appears to be, the provided locations? Anyone know of a means to fab or source a very small, fender mounted turn signal in a chrome-able housing that looks like half a headlight surround? This appears to be booger welded, but can't determine why it'd have needed to have been reworked. Look right? The POs door fix. Not quite as elegant as Ron's.... Not seeing any other way but replacement, nor does it appear that the 71 doors will work.
If it were me...
I'd cut that mother out and install a pop top! Overlander. Always wanted to cut the top off a cruiser but can't justify it... Unless the roof is caved in and starting to rust!

simple is usually right... 1973 fj55
