that drum looks right to me...whats the bolt pattern? how many splines? 60 series springs are not necessarily a good swap- keep the 55s or go to the chevy 63s or custom on leafs....the 60s rears could be used up front with some minor tinkering. 60 series diffs were fine splined but 3.7 geared- you want 62 diffs with fine splines and 4.11s...can't help with your parts hoarding problem maybe someone needs some fully rebuilt pig axles for a correct resto...You have all front axle repair parts? is this a disk brake axle? maybe I'll buy some of the front axle parts from you if you decide to liquidate those parts as it looks like I'm going to retain a good deal of my front axle thru the next steps...think my knuckle bearings are going...

ps,,, the throttle positioner I have would work for your carb I think, but it too is gunked up- I was hoping it was cleaner. let me know if you need a spare dirty throttle positioner...

Requested the measurements yesterday, but won't know if it's correct without knowing what the specific part number should be.

There's a shaft there that fits it.

I'm back to re-arching the OEs.

Thought I'd read that the longer leafs rode better, but I don't need the headache of swapping, if it's uncertain.

I have tried, after a discussion with Glenn at Radflo, numerous times and methods to speak to the leaf designer at Deaver, to no avail.

The staff that answers the phone has been great at answering questions and addressing specific details, like DDing, but all state I have to speak with one particular guy, who won't return calls or emails, one email containing all the relevant info straight from the FSM.

After researching options, felt that they had the best grasp on production of set up that'd allow for a nominal lift of 1" with a leaf that was designed for no load and DDing, which they may.

My goal is to improve the ride quality to the nth degree within the confines of the OE set up.

Had a "come to Onur" moment this morning (not the kind you're thinking of either, though he does look pretty damn sexy in his black stockings, the pic posted in a thread somewhere. Bahaha.) in which we discussed options and a "hold the course" (on the Ship of Theseus) was determined.

There will be future "builds" and thinking the next, however many years that may be, won't adhere to any stipulation of OE resemblance beyond the body looking like a Pig.

Build a wheeler with a Pig carcass, the only stipulation being I can drive it to wheel at 75mph, then drive it home.

Considering the 80 is meant for the same, already have "spares", I can envision 80 axles and other components of, in that build.

Thinking that's what the Mudder swapped the elocked in favor of.....

If the 70 ECU is half as integrated as the 80, it's well above my pay grade for a swap. Probably means to activate simply, but I'd be unaware.

locker controls are easy; I can whoop up a set if you need, altho, I did find out that Slee already has em on a shelf waiting to be put in a box on a truck for about 90 bucks- kinda hard to beat unless you already have boards/relays and switches that need to be used...

Don't have (yet. Haha), nor anything definitive, for that matter, but they're available and I'm tempted, but don't have anything specifically for them, so to speak.

The cool factor is there, but on a DD, lockers aren't really a necessity and the axles come at a premium probably better suited for a wheeler.

The last thing I need is another project.

If I completely discount the SAC on the FJC as "unfinished", the 80 still isn't done, the 72 has become a monster, and haven't even started on the 76. For that matter, I STILL DON'T HAVE A TITLE to the 76.

and I thought my fleet was a ball and chain- well, they are and about in the same stages of completion as yours I still don't have a title for the 73...
I'd swap in an axle in the rear whose replacement parts will be cheaper down the road(late 40 series, early 70 series or modified 60-80 series. But then I have ample time to think about how I can spend money I don't necessarily have, so I am able to come to some somewhat sound conclusions. I am able to do about 85-95% of the work, and I don't mind used/dirty parts. I'd like to think most of my projects costs are in gaskets and bearings, but it's the details that add up on the bill; all the small bits. Agree that a locker is not needed for a DD, but if they were included in the fix for another issue, I'd take em. FWIW, you DO have complete axles in boxes and bags already, and most of the brake parts for your splitcase, SO> that's a pretty good reason to stay the course, of coarse, a horse whose hoarse sounds a bit like a donkey tho, so it's all relative till it's reality

Ige said somewhere that the blue T would be correct for the 72, and this is in such good shape I feel it belongs on it, but, odds are, it'll be the crown of the 76s interior, because it's killer.

I have one from okiedave that needs cleaning that I'll run on the 72, if it's correct, or will find/restore the brown bottle cap one that it came with.

Considering how this build (76) has changed, I think both are going to wind up very cool Pigs, so not going to short change it, by any means.

One thing I had considered after measuring other vehicles and seating was trying to incorporate a tilt column, but don't think this will work, so will scrap that idea and focus on how to get the Grant off and this one on in its place.

Y'all may not venture to chat, where the details of the title debacle have been laid out to the jury of public opinion, but I like the history behind all this stuff, like knowing where the Pig came from, knowing where this wheel came from, and so on, but there's a cool story behind the BJ this wheel is from that I'll find and link.

I traced the 72 back, after someone recognized on a thread on FJCF.

Thought this 76s history was known, but all bets are off, considering inconsistencies and other items with seller, but will inevitably uncover.

Know the 80s, which is mundane, but being the third owner of an LC may only be the beginning, as we see how many these pass through over the years, though I never intend to sell.

Won't it be interesting, Ron, many years from know when folks that may not even be born yet, peruse these threads on Pigs that they now own?
