I'll buy that for a dollar! (Or for a fistful of dollars!)
Probably for a few dollars more!

Provisions for the quick release mounts or rubber mounts for the fire extinguisher?
There are so many variations of the quick release mounts included with different fire extinguishers and designing for all of them isn’t the best use of time. There will be a small V shaped piece behind the bottle that’s spot welded to the bracket, like this cardboard mock-up:

That should hold it securely. The pass throughs for the straps are shown as well, and the straps would be included. However, if you want to drill or modify the bracket, have at it! I think drilling out the spot welds in the V piece and drilling the specific holes for your mounting solution wouldn’t take very long at all.

I’m going to run the prototype for a bit. I will say that product isn’t getting shipped out if it rattles at all though.

My thoughts, at least have the forward corners welded. The sharp corners on your proto type might cut someone's bare or flip flopped feet. I would finish mine with black powder coating. Either way, great idea and I will buy one.

I too would prefer it with welded corners and PC. I think it deserves the company logo!

Corners welded up and powder coated - I have a Safecraft extinguisher from an old car i was going to throw in that spot. I like the little tray would be good spot for road flares.

I would be interested too. Corners welded. Folks can also powder coat on their own if they feel inclined…

Interested! Cool design. Love the junk tray.

Got a SMALL batch of these on the way. Updates to follow.

New parts inbound from fab. Details on that to follow!

This belongs in the Pig forum, but I’m posting here for continuity … there’s been a lapse in the availability of the 3D print file for the window gear on FJ55s, apparently it was hosted on Shapeways, which is now defunct. The file is still floating out there amongst the Iron Pig Preservation Society folks, but what I’m hearing is that not everyone has the means or desire to print those, so … I will be making them with my molding/casting process. The file was obtained from a friend who created it, with his blessing to do what I do.

Progress below. Green is a 3D print made by @Rzeppa - long time Land Cruiser expert and owner of American 3D Printing here in Colorado. I molded that and cast the blue piece yesterday. Hopefully I’ll find somebody who can test this and give me feedback.

Again, this is not pertinent to the 60 Series, but I’m posting here for continuity. Maybe I should eventually move this thread to the Small Business forum or elsewhere. For now it stays since I’m still 90% 60 Series products.

I want one of those fire extinguisher mounts for sure. I bought one once from someone who will remain nameless but it didn't fit at all. Took for ever to get my money back, which as I understand it I'm one of the lucky ones. I don't care if it's welded or powder coated or not personally. I would probably run a bead myself and rattle can it cause I'm cheap.

@joebattle1 i got the first batch of five in my hands today and they’re going live this week. I too had a similar experience with another item like this, but was unsuccessful in returning it - it went in the trash. I’m sick of my bottle rattling around under the seat, so here we are.

This will come unfinished and unwelded, however there have been a couple tweaks to the design:
-Tightened up the corner bends and rounded the top corners of the junk drawer. No snagging, spilled liquids have an exit path, small items won’t escape, requires no welding, which saves the customer money.
-Added flanges to hold the bottle in place better. I’m still running the prototype with a flat rest area for the bottle and it’s sagged about 1/2”
-Added a cutout keeper for the straps so they can’t slide left or right.
-After buying about a dozen different buckle straps, about half of them custom made, I gave up on those. These will ship with two NRS 5/8” wide cam straps. Does undoing them take any more time than a buckle? Nope. How much slower are they than a quick release? About 1 second. Press the cams and they release plenty to slide the bottle out. Yes I played around and timed myself. They are absolutely 100% secure. NRS stuff is top quality.

Starting tomorrow at 8AM through 11:59PM Monday night … save a bunch of dollars on my trash Land Cruiser gear! The discount codes combine! This includes the new 40 Series dome light brackets and will include the fire extinguisher mounts when they go live (by Wednesday).

Panels have an extra big discount. I’ve got a big stock up on those currently and want to clear some out. There’s also a b-stock Deluxe Tailgate Panel with an already low price that’s another 25% off. It has one small scratch from fab.

Fire extinguisher brackets are live. These are currently ONLY for 1981-1984 vehicles. Make sure your front seat bolts are horizontally across from each other and not offset. If in doubt please use the email form at the bottom of the home page on my website to contact me with a photo.
