When i was doing my spring over I came to the conclusion that any of the cheap angle finders are worthless. I had one from lowes, one from harbor freight and they were both off 2-3 degrees and worse yet they seemed to give varying readings as well. The only thing I would trust is a higher end digital angle finder.

Yeah...
however, for me...I do the best I can with what I have. In all actuality, these are NOT high performance vehicles where a deg or two off is gonna make THAT much of a HUGE difference. In the grand scheme of it all, I AM A HOME SHOP builder/ "shade tree" mechanic, NOT qualified in ANY respect to do any of this.
People, like MOST OF US here, have done WAAAAAY WORSE with MUCH LESS and been totally fine.

Just how I look at it anyway.

It is looking really good! I agree I do the best with what I have too. It's not always perfect but it sure is fun! Heck I start pulling things apart and cutting and welding before I even really know what I am doing! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing picks of it on a trail!

chicago, I'm going to come steal your s***. You better finish it soon

Oh I wasn't trying to be critical I just saw you mentioned some things looked opposite of what your angle finder read, I was just saying there's a pretty good chance your eye is better than that angle finder.

Thanks, and thanks for chekin it out!

Are you even still IN TO CRUISERS!?!?!?!:flipoff2:

NO NO NO. I know that you werent being critical and I didnt take it that way. I plan on trusting my eye to it and making some corrections. Also being somewhat skeptical of the angle finder, is why I also pulled dimensions from the tape measure.
Like I said though...Ill get everything closer to being ON the front of the rig and work from there. Leafs are still easy to adjust down the road. I do still believe that there is a visual thing happening with this.

BTW...the level of the rig....
UMMMM....the front is still on JACK STANDS!!!!!:o:bang::eek:
I set it up a bit to get most of the weight off the tire to do the alignment!!!!!

DICK HEAD!!!!!

This will be a x post, but since its part of THIS build, I wanted to post it up here for completeness...

Rad. mount. After one failed attempt I came up with this idea.
Very pleased with it.
It funny...the first design I just WASNT loving right from the beginning and it all fell apart as I was attempting to build it...ultimately, it failed. I donno why I dont just TRUST that instinct more oftern.:bang:

That looks kind of sketchy, it might fall apart,

If your truck were hit by a meteor :flipoff2:

LOL!!!!

Obviously I still have more to do. The goal was to make it sturdy, but also easily removable. So 6 bolts and the whole mount comes out and the top cap will be removable so I can pull the radiator nice and easy with 4 bolts.

Are you going to brace it at the back?

Not sure yet...
The lower "cap" is bolted down to the stock rad. mounts, then Ill have 4 more bolts off of the front braces. Im not convinced Ill need it. If I have questions about it, ill do it, but Im gonna see how it plays out as it is.

There is a lot of weight being trown arround in a radiator, maybe link it to the front?

I agree, more bracing is needed. Maybe some triangulated braces to the frame?

I don't think you'll need much, the stock system uses two rods < 1/4" in diameter coming off the back at about 30 degrees WRT vertical. Again you can always look at how mine is set up as a reference.
