First rear tyre swing almost done.. this was more challenging than I anticipated but I think the outcome is going to be good.. also check out the chunky boi Over-centre Locks I got! As usual, metal fabrication looks like complete rubbish until its got a nice coat of black paint on it.. a bit more grinding, radiusing, and flap disc work still to go.. cause I aint a welder!

looks good from over here

Rear bar and tyre carriers in paint yesterday! I am hopeful I can get it reinstalled and the new brake/indicator/tail/reverse lights wired up during the week.. I am rather prone to doing nothing after work during the week though.. a real failing - so much great YouTube content to consume..

Have you used the nankangs over a period? would love to know the longevity, muddies but still interested. very shiny mate!

Never had them before.. I am running Maxtreks on my vehicles these days.. good midrange tyre.. I dont buy expensive tyres anymore.. just cheaper ones and replace them before really major trips. These Nankings came on the two rims I picked up cheap second hand.

High Lift Jack mount added to rear bar.. in case I get stuck on a speed bump at the local supermarket..

800klm drive this weekend to visit my daughter.. 2500klms on the rebuild now.. a few minor issues came up:

  • Power steering tensioner adjusting bolt backed off, lost retaining nut for the pulley - replaced with nyloc, retensioned belt and add a locking nut to the adjuster bolt.
  • Turned on my new centre console fridge for the first time, it has a voltmeter built in and it showed that the vehicle is intermittently overcharging (15.5V !!!) confirmed with digital meter and have already tried a different regulator and the problem persists.. odd - more investigation soon.
Its Landcruiser country at her place!

I found these regulators are good value for oem 2h internal regs. The same brand has the bushes too, fits something for a mitsubishi truck. Cheapest anywhere.

Thanks.. currently externally regulated.. I suspect my "B" wire on the regulator plug is intermittently not accurately reflecting battery voltage.. I swapped the regulator and the fault remained. I'll fix it properly, but may still just convert to internally regulated as well.. good link that I might grab one for my HJ47 spares kit.

Navigation Tablet mounted and powered up... its a long way to the shop for this Pavement Princess, possibly well over 700metres. No chance of getting lost now. RAM Mounted (Seat mount), very comfortable viewing distance, angle etc.. left hand rests nicely near it for zoom, pan etc..

Pepsi Max holder... I 3D printed it old school style - with my welder, vice and grinder. Progress is progress :)

Rear drawers and sleeping platform underway.. in case I stay overnight at the local Woolworths..

Sleeping platform will take up the entire of the rear area, lift up panels to get access down into little storage nooks and the two drawers out the back.
