Yes Sir, The Trxus tires I was running were a true 37" tall never a issue. The new tires are 38.5" so really not that much bigger Ha Ha. All through the old tires worked well they weren't properly clearanced. And I lowered the Lift well increasing the tire size so that's been the big challenge.
PS really like your new Turbo nice job on the install. I would like to meet up and go wheeling some time if your interested.

This year I want to hit slick rock’s new section by alpine lake and Dusy ershim. I’m down for whatever wheeling is going to be fun.

I ended up using 2.5" bump stop extensions in the rear. I used the frame mounted ones form Hitti66 there very nice and move the factory hard rubber down, but no one seem to address the more progressive ones that are mounted in the coils GW Nugget brought this to my attention. So I spent the day making these extensions they are also 2.5" and well allow the progressive bumps to come into play first and compress approximately 11/4" before the hard rubber frame mounts make contact.

I had to order longer bolts to get them mounted they should be here next week

Got some more work done on the front . The tire clears with 2" bump stop extensions, battery moved up 1/2 ". The axle is fully articulated and the tire turned all the way to the right. I wanted to leave as much as possible so it was a slow game of cut put the tire back on check clearance & repeat.

You gotta wire wheel off the zinc coating too, otherwise you'll feel the Bern

Slowly making progress, It's a lot of work for a small increase of tire size, I hope it's worth it when it's all done!!!

Got some more work done fitting the 39s, Cut 1/2" off the front of the sliders ( I picked up some magnetic holders there really handy )

Added some bracing.

Then I started on the wheel wells & cutting the fenders open. The sheet metal screws are temporary.

Looks really good. Don't mean to state the obvious but the axle under double stuff will behave differently and have different interference issues than it will under an articulated condition. So check every way you can before welding

What a journey to fitting bigger tires than 37s... your right 37s are the sweet spot on a 80, they fit like a glove.
Pics Im sure do not do justice... cant wait to see in person.
Will you post a frontal pic of the front driver skirting?
Wear is the A/C dryer gonna land?

Got the inner wheel well welded in then made the lower lip of the finder so it can bolt up like a factory

Factory Hardware installed, A bit more fitting and then I well marry the finder to the lip

Got some more time in. I wasn't Happy with the way the clips were making a gap between the finder and inner wheel well, so I made a square dimple die to create a recess for the clip to sit in.

I am happy with the results.

All welded and cleaned up, again very happy with the results.

This give you a idea of how much was cut out.

That has crossed my mind. Not going to sugarcoat it, I would like to be done with this project and just go wheeling.
That being said, I have always been of the mind if your going to do something might as well do it right.

Or at least as “right” as you can. I think what you have done with your fender trumps any body work I have personally seen here on Mud.

Thanks for the kind words Steve. My back round in the movie industry working on things like Ships for Pirates of the Caribbean, space ships for Star track to P40 Airplanes for the movie Pearl harbor has been indispensable in figurine out all the pieces of the puzzle.
