Finally finished up the ARB deluxe bull bar installation, it's a long one so grab some 🍿

Great video! Maybe a dumb question. If you mount a winch to it...do you mount the winch after everything is set with the bumper? In other words, would you mount the winch when you mount the splash guard?

If this is anything like the Dissent bumper, you must mount the winch first as there isn't room to fit it to a mounted bumper.

Thanks man! That's a great question I don't know the answer to. Looking at it you might be able to with the splash pan off but I think it would be pretty tough because of the weight of the winch and ease of getting at the mounting hardware. I intend to pull the bumper when I install one here in the near future. Once you do the initial bumper installation it's only 8 bolts to remove after the splash pans off, oh and may be the light housings, but shouldn't be too bad.

If you dont have a winch when installing the bumper, you can add it later by removing the splash shield, lifting the winch from below and bolting it in. If you have one, mount the winch to the bumper and then install the bumper on the brackets.

It has been a number of months since I've posted anything on youtube, here, or was able to work on the rig. I have had a lot of professional and personal things going on that kept me busy. I am getting things rolling again and really miss all the fun I had putting videos together and being a part of this community. Thanks to everyone who checked in on me to be sure I was ok! I am excited to get back at it again and show you what I am up to with the hundy!

Finally installed some foglights in our ARB bumper. We decided to go with xprite 4" led foglights based on some installs on here. So far we are loving these lights. They are very bright and have a great cutoff pattern. I used a slightly different method than some of the others I saw on here. Ok full disclousre, I used hardware in a different way maybe/definitelly not an ideal way 😅and ended up cracking the housing. The other guys I saw put the bolts in the other way around and probably didn't tighten like I did. I ended up using some epoxy to repair the housings and to finish up the mount. Regaurdless the final solution is holding up well.

Thanks to FranceJohnson for starting this thread and everyone else on the thread for all the great ideas.

I wanted to install rocker switches in the sunglasses holder ever since I saw this thread. Thanks to @OregonLC for kicking it off and everyone who contributed to that thread! I finally pulled the trigger bought some switches, a relay box and my first pair of led lights, follow on videos coming soon.

Not sure if anyone has done this with homelink and there seemed to be some doubts that you can make it fit. Well you can make it fit but it takes some work and makes the install a little more complicated. I used flag connectors on all the switch connections and for the ground connections I removed the cover to allow the connectors to fit more easily. Since the flag connectors I purchased had rigid covers it made getting them all squeezed in together a challenge. If you find flag connectors with soft rubber covers those are much easier to work with. I used some with the soft rubber since they came on the voswitch wiring harness. Hope the video and pics are helpful.

During the installation of my rocker switches and relay box I decided to break out a video focusing on running wires from under the dash up the a-pillar and across the headliner to the overhead center console. I figured this could be helpful for a number of different projects.

I just installed a voswitch 6 relay box and some round 7" LED driving lights. I really like the spod but for the price I had to try the voswitch. I also considered other brands like the trigger and s-tech. I got the voswitch for about $150. I got 7" driving lights since I like the look of the smaller diameter on the ARB bumper. The SXMA lights didn't have many reviews but were only $125 at the time and so far I am really happy with them.

Alright, so which antenna are you using? I might have missed it somewhere, but I dont think you told us the exact one. I see what mount your using, again just looking for the antenna itself. Great videos on the youtube channel and always am dreaming of that man room downstairs that you have.

I use the Browning BR-450

Thanks man! I call it Brady's Pub and it's quite the fun spot ☺ If you are ever in central va let me know and you can check it out.

@brizzle , Nice work on your rig! What lights are you using around the hatch opening of your truck? How did you attach them? I looked through the build but might've missed that part.

Thanks man! I am pretty behind on posting my projects on here and really need to catch up the thread. These are the lights I have Amazon.com: YITAMOTOR LED Light Bar 2PCS 18W 6 Inch Flood LED Work Light Pods Single Row Off Road Led Light Driving Light Fog Light Boat Light Waterproof SUV ATV 4WD Car Truck Golf Cart 12V 24V, 2 Year Warranty: Automotive

They are pretty cheap but so far are working great. I actually went for lower wattage lighting since I expect to run these when setting up and hanging out while wild camping and wanted something that was good enough but wouldn't kill the battery. They are definitely bright enough.

I have 2 mounted on each side and 2 in the back. The ones in the back are mounted on the top side of the rear rail of my frontrunner rack. The lights actually came with M8 bolts the same size you can slide in the rack slots or side and rear rails. On the sides I have them mounted to the slots on the bottom side of the slats. I am definitely going to drop some videos on them in the future. These aren't the best pictures to see how they are mounted but might help. Let me know if that answers your questions.

Thanks for your reply @brizzle . Those are nice lights! However the lights to which I was referring are the blue lights in the video below:

I'd like to illuminate the cargo area a little better than the factory overhead. I'm considering something like an LED light strip(like what it appears you have) around the rear opening wired to a switch by one of the 12v outlets back there.

Oh gotcha, those were a random LED light set that I bought a while ago. I didn't know much about LED strips at the time. It's an addressable LED strip with an RF controller. This is the one I have up in my roofnest. It uses bluetooth and has more features like music sync, phone control, and the good color changing you get from an addressable strip. I may actually replace the rear lights with these. https://amzn.to/2Z35jn0

I talk about some of my considerations in this video. Let me know if you have any questions.

That's exactly the info I was looking for! Thanks!

Wow, the last year and a half have been something. Got busy last spring getting ready for a number of overland trips. ⚠WARNING⚠ getting ready to dump some personal s***. :) Unfortunately, during the summer of 2019 my marriage took a nose dive. I emerged in January motivated to make some progress on the hundy and get some videos rolling again. I managed to squeak out a little content but between COVID, work and my continuing personal saga I haven't been on social media or here really at all. I have made pretty significant progress on the rig but have produced very little of that content. Anyway here I am hoping to create a little accountability device to help me get back on the wagon, post some videos, and spend some time sharing information here.

Back in February I purchased a Roofnest Falcon so I could head out at a moments notice and camp pretty much anywhere. Here's a quick setup and teardown video I did a few months back.
