I fully agree with you on all of this. Since I was going to do the throw out bearing, I figured just do a whole clutch kit since I’m in there already. At the same time I will inspect and adjust the pedal and so forth. I did watch a few videos on...
OK, that suggests to me that the clutch disc is not tight up against the flywheel. If it works for a few minutes, when cold, but fades away as it warms, then maybe some adjustment will fix it. Your pedal freeplay does not sound right. There are...
Correct, I have shifted motorcycles, heavy haul trucks and others without using the clutch.
It allows me to shift gears but it just ends up coasting to a stop and if I use the accelerator it just revs the motor.
That’s where I started, no leaking fluid anywhere and that all seems to be functioning. I might end up just replacing that also though since I’m doing the clutch kit.
Yes, I agree and have considered that as well. My pedal does indicate that could be the case. However, if that was the case it wouldn’t allow me to be driving all the way into 3rd gear for 10 min or so and then randomly go out and not function at...
Can you change gears with it off?
Have you tried “unsticking” the gears by starting it in Lo range?
Did you reach up into where the clutch fork and TO bearing are to see if that has play or is stuck somehow?
I like the cheap $10 diode electric fuel pump on Amoron or eboy. I run them on my rigs and they last about 10 years, 2 minutes to swap them out. I also use them on my fuel transfer pump because holding up 5 gallon cans any more isn't all that...
I checked and all good on that side of things.
Upon further inspection, my fuel pump seems to be going bad. I could not get it started and checked to see if it was throwing fuel by removing the fuel line from the carb and putting it into a jug...
Got the original back! Drive around for about 20 miles today as well.
The five speed is an interesting beast. Certainly miles ahead of the old 3spd, but I gotta say, I think I like the H41 a little better… it just shifts nicer. I’m sure a well...
What a guy! I was actually looking at a clutch kit just now lol. I think my problem is 1. My pedal is not correctly positioned as it is stiff at its highest point with no play. 2. I think it’s not catching on the flywheel. More than likely I will...
I am no expert either, but "IF" you end up needing them, I have some clutch parts that I held onto (a long with a handful of other parts) for spares when I was planning on running the straight six, before deciding to do the LS swap. There's a...
Ok, still going over a few things however, I noticed the clamps holding my heater hoses together by the firewall were loose and water came out of them and got pretty hot while driving in the neighborhood trying to flush the radiator. Got those...
I’ll be checking the spring and rod in the morning. I’ll report back with what I find. Appreciate everyone!
Also, had a lady say nice jeep… we know how that went and turned out. I also had a guy in a jeep look at my son and do the notorious...
