Looks like a great start.I don't know what I'm doing. Sorry
I'm no expert either but happy to offer suggestions or answer questions. Good luck on the build and have fun with it.

Got to play along the Utah/Arizona Border over the weekend. Fantastic trip with lots of snow, mud, ice, a little bit in the rocks. It was a good shakedown for the Trail Tailor rear control arms that I installed recently. I'll be posting a short review on them soon. I also installed some of the Trail Tailor front recovery points before the weekend trip. I didn't end up needing to use them but they are a nice heavy duty recovery point that will be loads better than the stock tow loops.
I still have a set of LCP swaybar disconnects I need to install. Hopefully tackle that soon and get out in the rocks again and see how those do.
The Baja Claws were awesome this weekend. Honestly a bit surprised by how well they performed.

Seriously. Not a fun day in the car wash. I think most of that mud ended up on me in the carwash.IH8MUD![]()

Actually I've had the Slinkys for almost a year now believe it or not. They've been worked hard in that time and have almost 20k miles on them now with roughly half of that on the dirt. I have no doubt that they taken their fair share of rocks over that time. Doesn't surprise me to see a chip or two in the coating.Didn't you just recently put on those slinky springs? They appear to be rusting already.
On the topic at hand....I really need those control arms....
I had about 4" of droop left and about 2.5" of compression left in those photos. I'll try to get some measurements, but I think the numbers might be in the big Shock thread that talked about the Slinky kits. Might try a search for that.Adam,
Is there any way you could measure the compressed length of the rear shock and if there is any more room for the shock to compress or is it bottomed out, if you could also measure the extended length too? Looks like where you took these pic's has your 80 flexed real well!!!
Same goes for the front shocks if you could ? I'm trying to figure out shock options to go with my Slinky Coils that will be inbound soon..
I never did a write up. It was so simple I didn't see the need. SCS does have a 17" 3.5"BS wheel but only in the F5 style. As far as I know they have not removed the lip from any of the other models because it's what holds the center caps.Love the SCS wheels, did you ever do a write-up of the lip grinding you had to do to make them fit? And did you ever hear back from them on 80 series dedicated options (i.e. 4.0 or 3.5" bs on the 17" wheels, lip removed to fit hub, etc...)? I would love to go with a set of those limited SCS Copper Ray 10 if they are ever produced, bronze if they are not, but the lip grind makes me a little nervous... TIA!
