bezel color suggestions

Need suggestions on repainting my instrument cluster bezel. I have it apart for cleaning and a gauge replacement and am thinking of painting the bezel another color to match the car. Any suggestions or pic are appreciated. All purists just bite your tongue. I may paint it OE color, but I think another color may be nicer.

Oem color is best. Most other colors make it look like a clown car.

I think this is yours CAJ. At first glance grey to match the center panel and passenger side instruments seems logical.

I think what sets your rig apart is the time you’ve spent installing gauges. If you were to paint the cluster bezel, center panel and pasenger panel interior white, I think that would look sharp. If I recall correctly, you did all the paint on your rig using aiplane grade paint, so finding a match is likely. I think all your gauges/switches would pop against a solid white background, adding to the CAJ WOW factor.

Thanks TBRR that is mine. I have thought about white and may do it, but I like some contrast as well. Different color paint I've got coming out my a$$. One main objection for a different color is the center panel. Removing all those controls would be a real pain.

You are getting soft

I think the code is T145 ash grey metallic. I bought a couple 2k Spraymax rattle cans in that code. The mix I got definately isn’t a match, but I think it’s closer than some of the plain light grey bezel’s I’ve seen posted.

Wow! And I thought I had alot of gauges in my 80?!?!
Oh, bezel color.... Cygnus White would be my favorite.

The extra gauges in my 'cruiser are a tach, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, vac, fuel pressure, voltmeter. All good to have.

Besides white the on my Toy bezel has been cast iron and is now hammer-tone silver.

Duplicolor has a wheel paint that looks similar to the original color on the gage cluster and glove box door. I might try that next.

I’m not generally a “white” guy, but Grant is wooing me!!

Edit: I just had another look... the odometer is at 00002... this is s brand new 40!!
