While I’m on the train of requests. How about a LC fog light replacement panel that fits a led cube light?

The taco crowd has plenty of options for this but I’ve not seen an LC option.

I do have a project to replace the OEM fog light. It mounts one or two these LEDs. I have four from Rigid Industries .
The problem is most people would buy a steel bumper and mount these lights.

@BenCC Could you design and print a whole new overhead console? That way it’s exactly as you want and not trying to squeeze square pegs into round holes. Is it within your print volume?

I’m in the same situation with these dumb Home link consoles. Plus I’m tall and prefer an upright sitting position, so it seems I’m either in the market for a new overhead console with sunnies or crossing my fingers you can one-up Toyota and make something killer.
Printing volume is not a problem. I can print up to 500 mm x 500 mm. You definitely have put that in my head lol.

hey @BenCC, long time listener, first time caller.

i read that you were working on an ashtray replacement. was curious what your idea was? i've been searching high and low for just a little box that would fit in the opening. something a phone could slide into. thoughts?

Yes I am working on a thing that replaces the whole astray plastic trim. I am planning to have a wireless phone charger in there.

Sorry if somebody has already made this request and I missed it, but are you able to make some inserts for our cup holders? The cup holders in the 100 series are possibly the worst cup holders ever created. They’re amazingly shallow and the little insert in the middle always pops out. My drinks are always tipping over and spilling!

the only worse ones are the 2nd row cupholders in the back of the centre console. amazingly terrible for everything.

Yes there are some requests on the cup holders.
I did take a look at the cup holder and the space under the holder. The cup holders are shallow because there is limited space above the transmission. The bottom of the cup holders barely clear the top of the transmission. This is also the reason that we have toasty cup holders.
It is definitely a project. I am currently working on the replacement cover of the subwoofer. After this, I will focus on the astray replacement trim, then on the cup holder.

I don’t like the 2nd row foldable cup holders too. When I installed the 12v outlet panel near there, I was thinking to replace the flimsy cup holders with a solid drawer. Every time I was measuring the design space, it came to me that we have a big truck with very limited interior space.

I'm in the tiny % of the population with an old school TJM bumper that retains the factory fogs - this would be killer for me!

Sure that’s understandable. But I think there are two groups of people here that would buy them. 1-those who want more light but not a heavy bumper. 2-those who want a bumper but can’t afford one yet or haven’t gotten permission. If you made these I’d buy them in a heartbeat. Especially if I could fit a pair on each side. One cube for fogs with a proper cutoff and one cube for throwers to get the light out there.

As for the overhead console. I’d buy it. Especially if it was still stock-like. Keep the map lights, add the small 5mm led red or amber lights like some consoles already have. Then options for switches or ScanGauge or both. If you were going custom you could possibly do ScanGauge and a little cb/ham thing. I don’t have those but I know some love them.

You have the exactly same plan as I do, one flooded and one spot on each side.
I will think about the whole overhead replacement.

If youre replacing the whole thing, couldnt you make some small LED's for lights rather than keep the stock lights, and free up space for additional switches?

I'm game for this as well. That placement for a scangauge is perfect, but the implementation on the LX homelink panel is something I think would annoy me after a while. The LC with the sunglass holder scangauge mount is awesome.

I have a few more ideas/variations on requests.

1-when you do the ash tray delete - are you thinking this is the entire lower panel? So from ash tray to cig lighter? I’d love a replacement panel for that entire area with switch blanks. Perhaps even with pop out blanks for future growth.

2-when you do switches, could you do an option for the OEM style push switches? I much prefer the looks of those to the carling rocker style.

3-how about a third row ash tray delete panel for a switch/usb outlet? Or a phone holder?

It’s awesome you are rolling with everyone’s ideas and making things at reasonable prices. Keep it up!!

1. Entire panel.
2. No problem. Once I have the CAD of the panel ready, mounting scheme is highly customizable.
3. Not a problem either. It should be an easy one. Do you mean this part on the rear driver side?
