So, I've replaced check valve, double checked the valve cover gasket, replaced the valve cover bolts (with the little rubber grommet gaskets) and one thing I noticed while having the air cleaner assembly off is that the air filter and floor of the inside of the air cleaner housing are saturated with motor oil (like a volume of liquid oil in there)
I assume that it's getting in there via the PCV hose and smog pump hoses (it is evident from the oily-ness of those hose connections)
Anybody have any idea why this is happening?
Is it bad? or is it actually helping the valves? Is the only side effect a little blue smoke and oil lose or is it a sign of something else that needs to be addressed.
