Okay guys, I'm about to actually give Chunk some love with a much needed, new exhaust.

I got a Man-A-Fre cat back 2.5" exhaust and Straight Pipe Cat replacement section.

I know that the 02 sensor has nowhere to go in this set-up and that I need to disconnect it
underneath the center console...

Is that a pretty apparent thing to disconnect by following the line down through the
floor? Is there anything else to disconnect under the center console?

Has anyone else out there deleted the cat?

I'll take some pics of it to make sure you want it.
Wiring, connector and floorpan gasket all look good...
Can't tell you if it's op or non-op

RE: Pictures at the front of the thread...yeah. My Image host
used to be ImageShack but after 3 or 4 years of reasonable
bare-bones plan, they decided to hold my hosted images
hostage for a minimum of something like $150 a year or
something so I told them to go pound sand and lost all
the linked images. I don't respond well to extortion. :)

All done with the exhaust...sounds great...just first of all having all
the exhaust noise coming out the back of the truck rather than from
everywhere...just makes the truck seem less beat up.

The tone is REAL NICE.....low burble with some rosp (as opposed to rasp)

bracket for post-muffler was a bit too tall so bushing hasn't gone in there yet
but it's certainly not going anywhere since it's hung on the tail and at the back
of the straight pipe where the cat used to be.

Im a big fan of ‘rosp’ in my exhaust sound too

Okay, well...

A day with good and bad.

Saw Deadpool 2 with my wife while the grandparents took care of the boy...that was fun :)
If you liked DP 1 you'll thoroughly enjoy the second installment.

As for the bad, Chunk the 60 had catastrophic engine failure today going to pick the boy
up. Hard to say what let loose. but it was most likely head based...like a sucked valve
or something. It wasn't an accessory like a water pump or anything. Didn't overheat
but was running the water pump non-stop.

I knew it was consuming coolant and had already replaced the WP so I figured it was
a Head Gasket letting coolant into the cylinder. Had a little bit of foamy chocolate
milk on the top of the oil cap. every once in a while when I checked it.

But after a bunch of clatter, it began running on 5 cylinders but didn't have massive
oil spill (thrown rod or galley plug) and wasn't overheating or leaking coolant (WP or full
HG failure. So my guess is valves or something head related.

Look for a for sale thread coming to a 60's For Sale Sub-Forum near you...

Bummer. Selling the truck instead of replacing the motor?

Yup...I just can't put multiple thousands of dollars into a truck that won't
be worth even close to what I would have to put into it just to get it running again.

Chunk needs to be someone else's project rather than my "keep it on life support"
approach.
