The hood was a mess....the inner structure was completely separated.....Benji glued used some panel bond to get it back in position.

Got to see the prisoner....I mean Troopy.....today in body shop lockdown. It's really really close.
Supposedly paint on Monday and back to me at the end of next week but I don't think it's going to happen. I've heard this before.
Also received a fun phone call later today that the windshield cracked while it was being installed...which is perplexing since....the truck hasn't been painted. The painter came up with some great excuses as to why it was being installed(mainly because I'm rushing him to finish). The window guy(who I have known for 20 years) says the gasket was old...hard....too small......it was a brand new OEM gasket that I bought in August). It was also about 50 degrees this morning....which in FL is like 0 degrees everywhere else. So I'm thinking the gasket was too cold. Glass guy was upset and came over to chat tonight....he'll put the new windshield in along with the new gasket. Hopefully it will be above 50.
So....$400 later....a new windshield and gasket are on the way.
Worst part....the windshield was the only good part on the truck.
I will say the the body is SUPER straight. This painter may be slow and may make up stories about windshields but his work is really good. It's like a totally different truck now.

The windshield thing is interesting. The guys broke my brand new windshield trying to install it as well. They bought a new one without even asking me and just told me about it after the fact. Maybe these are particularly hard ones to do... huh...
Both my original hood and the replacement I found had separated. We glued it together with some adhesive the guys recommended before painting. Must be a common issue.

Hopefully they replaced exactly what they broke.
I would be KEENLY DISAPPOINTED if I supplied an OEM windshield and they picked up one from Walmart to replace it with.![]()

This is why I am having cold feet about getting my windshield replaced after a rock chip on the PZJ70. Eventually I will have to replace it though. I did have the chip repaired for now.
It will be monumental when the Hodgepodge is to that stage.
Cheers
And as of late last night.....the body shop prison warden says this Friday is Troopy's release date! What a surprise!
Roof and hood have to be painted.....light wet sand with 1500 and then a buff. Then it comes home.
