My buddy Jeremy helped me do the diesel swap. He wasn’t too excited about wiring and so we had a shop get the basics done. I’m sure they saw it was an adequate size wire for the ignition and robbed it instead of running a new one. If I’d of had more time I would have done it but that was last year and wanted it running but it Snowballed from there. It’s okay I’m learning now. It’s been a year and a half automotive shop class

Wife and I got away this weekend to enjoy the area of Parkdale, Oregon. Stayed at the Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast.

The view looking up the North Face of Hood is amazing.

Morning sunrise from the B&B this morning.
Our hike today will be to Badger Lake depending on snow. Just over 10 miles. So great to get back into nature.

Took a hike yesterday up 1700’ in 2.5 miles to Gumjawac saddle. As we climbed got this great view of Mt. Hood looking over Bluegrass Ridge.

We then descended 2,000’ in 2.2 miles along Gunjawac Creek to Badger Creek. Climbed 600’ in 2 miles to Badger Lake to enjoy it all alone.

After a short break ascend ridge up 1,100’ in 2.5 miles back to Gumjawac saddle along the dark north face in snowdrifts.

Time for route finding skills as the trail was difficult to find at times.

Not to mention we weren’t the only ones there. Fresh cougar tracks in the snow gave a clear indication a cat was around.

Got back to the saddle and descended 1700’ in 2.5 miles. Awesome hike and outstanding scenery.

Teaching the boy how to change the oil. My dad taught me about wells and pumps. Didn’t ever get into vehicles until I got on my own and until I decided I wanted to do a diesel conversion on the 60.
Headed to Yellowstone at the end of the month in the Dodge and pickup bed camper. Need to get it all ready. I wish I could take Snowball...

Anybody interested in coming out to Oregon for a camp trip/ expedition adventure let me know. I’d love to get an outing together. Think I’ll hit up some locals here on MuD but would like to meet up with some guys. It’s BBQ season.

Jason, I'm hoping to do some exploring this summer. No solid plan yet, but hopefully going to do the BDR trail or at least a good portion of it. It starts in Stevenson, WA all the way up to the Canadian border.

The Washington portion of the Pacific Crest Trail would be a great trip. I’ve done a lot of it in sections here in Oregon. Having enough time to do the whole thing would be an adventure for sure. 2600 miles Mexico to Canada. The wife and I plan to do it when the house is paid off... only 12 more years, geez I’m getting old fast.

My steering wheel was about 90 degrees off when driving straight so loosened the jam nuts on the drag link and loosened until the steering wheel was where it should be. Retightened the jam nuts. I’ll take pictures of the threads of the tie rods to show how much is exposed. I believe the threads on them were about 3-4” long.

My dad needed me to help him on a job for a friend today so finally drove Snowball to work. First time since Jan 2018.

Looks like you moved the rear axle back a lot. That doesn't hit the rear 1/4? That's a pretty low rear shackle angle too, it's not too soft? Also what rear shocks are you running again?

It hasn’t moved since the SOA swap. Flexed it out and it only hit the rear 1/4 at max flex. It’s really a nice ride on the Bilstein 7100s.

I meant that you moved the rear axle back when you did the SOA. That's right, I remember you had the Bilsteins. What is the travel on your rear shocks? My rear axle doesn't seem to want to drop down that far on the droop side.
