What’s involved with the hydroboost brake setup?

A lot more than just trying to figure out or research if there is a better way to capture that seal.

New booster, adapting that booster to your brake pedal and firewall, probably a new master cylinder (or a couple to go through bore size experiments to get the feel right in your set up), new brake line adapters, more pressure lines, definitely adding a fluid cooler to that circuit.

Here's mine. They make a pre and post turbo EGT if you go with the colored gauge. It will have the green, orange, red colors correctly orientated for pre or post turbo probe. Everything about them is really nice. I like that they have pigtails already on the probes. Easier to replace later.

I have the vacuum pump so I’m not changing it just curious as Johnny suggested it.

I love my hydroboost and I don't even have a diesel engine.. I was actually surprised you didn't convert to it. I agree though, if you're only one step away from a working system just get what you have working. Your truck been sitting for long enough

Tonight aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting a very special place in my life. It’s the Tilly Jane A-Frame cabin built by the CCC in 1939. The A-Frame sits at 6,000’ on the NE flank of Mt. Hood. The cabin has received recent attention to repair the aging cabin. The Forest Service had neglected the cabin so it was up to public efforts and clubs for restoration.
During November of 2017 I joined a crew to make repairs and cut firewood for the previous seasons supply. Oregon Public Broadcasting was actually up documenting the event. Little did I know they filmed me cutting up wood. Here’s the 60 loaded with my gear for the work day.

The day was cold with rain snow mix. Staying the night for the work party was free so I took advantage. That night it snowed about 4” and was a great time with some great company.

It’s a 2,000’ elevation gain in a few miles by the trail in winter which is fun to skin up and ski down. The road is closed in winter by a snow gate but is 9 miles compared to about 3 by trail. This is my buddy James and I making our overnight accent for New Years 2018.

The scenery is amazing. The area burned about 5 years ago but it gave the area better views, better powder turns and elk habitat.

Cold March morning but the sun is shining, it’s a 60s work day with Mike. On the agenda, vacuum pump install with power steering pump. Then test drive and see if the new vacuum pump works with my brake booster and I have brake assist. Test out the shocks and feel of the suspension. Then start the exhaust work from the turbo to the tail pipe. Jeremy got my down pipe from his buddy KC but the flange surface is causing an exhaust leak at the turbo discharge. Picked up the vast assortment of fittings yesterday as seen above so hopefully everything is there to wrap it up and get Snowball rolling🤣

ROAD TEST
I drove on highway, I videotaped while Mike drove back to shop.

Installed the vacuum pump first and aligned the key way vertical in order that it didn’t slide in the way for the teeth on the power steering pump.
