Yeah, I was noticing the correlation between the outer support bracket and the rusted area before I came in the house. How did you end up repairing yours? Was your outer brace salvageable? Mine has no signs of rust from the outside...and luckily the patch panels I have came with clean inner fender wells. This rust repair is fun stuff, huh?
Yeah, this is my favorite part of the project so far.
I removed the panels from the inside and the outside. The outer panel was rusted through in one spot. The inner panel (bracket) just needs cleaning up. The wheel well is shot... I will have to patch that.

There is a recipe in here for the stuff that the brits use for their landrovers. I'll see if i can find it.
