Awsome job!!!! that's an amazing rebuild. I'll love to have garage like that to do all the jobs for my cruisers... well congrats and keep it coming! I'm really interested on doing something similar with my rig!! maybe in 2 years

Great job man, its going to turn out awesome!

Anyone know of some clean quarters within 300 miles of Southern Indiana. . .?

FJ40Jim has two silver 60s that he is parting out. He is in Lancaster, OH. He has a post under the BuckeyeBirfieldSyndicate TLCA Forum/Clubhouse. I was just out there this past monday looking at some doors. I am pretty sure he has at least two good quarters. Cheers.

Sorry to see the quarter panels...

I have not ordered from them, but I did find quarter panel patches from these guys: Toyota Land Cruiser Rust Repair Panels

Honestly this looks like a pretty good deal unless you can find some clean quarters really close to you....................nice new sheet metal....$20 shpping............can't go wrong there

Yeah, I talked to the guy that makes these last week. Only bad part is it is only designed to be a patch panel, so it has no pinch weld seams, fender lip, etc. (which are toast on mine). . . I am really hoping to find a way to miraculously get your clean quarter to Indiana at minimal cost!

Alright, long time with no picture updates, sorry.

I had posted pics of the rust spots I was fixing on the rear wheel wells, here are a couple pics after welding in the patches, smoothing, and a quick shot of primer:

In addition, I patched the factory accelerator linkage "oval" and a few odd holes the previous owner had drilled for wiring, these turned out really well:

I'm not sure if I've posted the fender/core support rot pics or not, so here is a quick one of the core support before I started patching last night. It looks like 24 years of leaking batteries took it's toll:

The rot had basically eaten the entire lower right side of the core support:

So, I cut everything out, built patch panels, and started welding them in this evening:

After I get the front clip all patched up I will be able to prime and paint the front clip and firewall area. By then I will hopefully have 1/4 panel patches ready to install. . .

I want my truck back.

Thanks man!

Here are a couple pics after getting the first patch welded in and blended. I've just about got the second piece ready to weld in also, but I need to get some weldable primer first.

Nice. Nice. Nice.:clap::clap: You can add one more cruiserhead to the list of folks who are envious of your shop. Someday I will do a frame off resto on my cruiser. Very inspiring, keep up the great work and pictures!

Consider me subscribed

Thanks man!

Sorry, forgot to update. They don't have any 60's. Just 80s, Tacos, Runners
and Tundras.

Skinner, I can't remember if it was mentioned or not, but did you think about doing a Spring Over Axle? I think that adds so much character, and with 35s it's the cats meow.

Great work so far.

Nice work, I miss living in Indiana where you can have a huge shop and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. BTW I grew up in New Albany and I DO NOT miss the cold. :D

Im so glad i dont have any firewall issues, it doesn't look fun,

you are making it look easy though.

Wow, it's been a long while since I've posted an update. You guys need to keep me in check. ;p

Still have to shoot one more coat of black. With any luck the body will be back on the frame and ready for 1/4 panel replacement by Friday night. I'll be sure to take a bunch of pics of that process.:wrench:

Nice work! I like the other project you have parked in there too;).

Butt

Thanks man! The C10's next in line; I've got big plans for it! A bit off topic, but it has a lot of sentimental value, my grandad bought it new, my mom learned to drive in it, and it was my first truck. . .with any luck it will be in the family for a long time.
