Tire rotation
Knuckle and drive shaft lube
Oil and filter change Mobil 1 Synthetic
Tranny drain/fill Mobil 1 ATF
Changed all diffs, Mobil 1 75-90.
The center and rear were as crystal clear as the last swap, but the front was gray and the drain plug had a mushy, clutch like matter clinging to it.
Not sure what that indicates. 5.29s now have ~5,900 miles on them, yet after the initial two changes of no such observation, unsure of what's up.
Swapped the rusty 555s for OE ball joints at all ends.
No matter the orientation of one, be it on a lift or on the ground, the other is in a bind, as far as I've been able to determine. Noticeable now after a few miles.
Swapped the ARP studs out for OEs, too, and trimmed the lug nuts. Be hunting a closed lug to conceal the hack job that became.
DO NOT INSTALL ALL WHEEL STUDS BEFORE FIRST CHECKING FITMENT as I did, forcing a surgery, like this. Winds up looking like chit.
Reason for stud swap was breaking one while tightening after checking wheel bearings a few weeks back (due to slop in steering that turned out being a nut missing on frame side front panhard. I replaced that, too, and checking all more regularly, since it'd be gone over before last trip out). but upon removal of these, several decided they weren't happy about the eviction and tried hanging on for dear life.
New starter, as well. Last one hung on for a month past what it should've, but finally crapped out, forcing the hand on this round of wrenching.
The 555s are slightly different in engagement, and even though all was measured accurately, still have to re-rack.
Guess when you beat on them hard enough, craps bound to happen, but second time the panhard bolt has come loose on the front DS mount, and several rear link bolts were looser than they should've been.
Will update the previous post with part numbers.
Listening to any input on the front diff fluid. It was obviously metallic, yet didn't feel gritty, so concerned, but not sure how much I ought to be.
