Hey Sean the bumpers look super solid. Will think of you when I decide to step up with a more rugged bumper. Also nice you are on the East Coast as it seems most are West of the Mississippi.

Curious, what is that structure in the background of the bumper with ladder shot with the blue tarpaulin on top? Is that in your yard?

Keep up the great work

J

Um........he is in southern Cali.

yah I gathered that right after I hit "post"

was looking deeper in the thread and replied to an old post. rookie move

I was from the east coast, Brockton MA born and raised, moved to Americas finest city in 1999 where I am still am to this very day

And I think that structure you are talking about is my fence, gate and driveway, it is part of my yard I guess.

hey Sean thanks for getting back to this. v jealous of you in SD - I've been out there a few times recently.. Encinitas, Black's Beach, and use a shaper in San Clemente. and great off-roading!

enjoy it out there and happy trails

Thanks J! it was 82 today not bad for the middle of the "winter".

I do miss the City of Champions very much, the Italian and Chinese food especially, but not the frostbite, humidity, toll roads and pot holes, blood thirsty insects, poison ivy/oak/sumac, also a severe lack of taco shops. Taco bell/dell taco doesn't count.

I recently installed my rear bumper and am nothing but pleased!:):):):)
Sean is a true professional and a craftsman to boot. He kept me updated on the build and shipping details through the whole process.
The fit and finish are flawless with this gem. Install is pretty straightforward and not too difficult or time consuming. I don't think anyone with minimal mechanical skills would have any issues installing this, but cutting the frame apart is a bit, ummm, counterintuitive.
A few issues I ran into...
1: trying to install the nuts on the inside of the main frame rails was a real PITA.:bang:
I opted to use an extendable magnet:idea:,run the bolts through from the inside of the frame, and nuts on the outside. Soooo much easier.
2: The supplied mounting hardware for the side wing brackets was standard (would have preferred Metric throughout), and not hardened. I actually broke a bolt during install using hand tools, and I'm no noob with wrenching.
3: I had a difficult time installing the dust cap on the tire side swingout pivot, it's tough to get a straight shot. Ended up denting the hell out of both of them :whoops: until I finally got it to seat. Granted, by this time, my hands were frozen, and my patience was thin...soooooo...:censor:
4:Bent the hell out of my license plate when I went wheeling in the snow. I plan on cutting a piece of thick aluminum to bolt to the bracket to keep the plate straight.
I don't need any hassles from cops about my bent tag!
5: I absolutely LOVE my new bumper and appreciate that it was made by one skilled dude in his own garage!
Yay Sean!

I cant find the price on these bumpers anywhere. I have gone through 4 pages of the thread and Im giving up. People are talking about how good the price is, but I cant find it anywhere!

Can someone please chime in and tell me the price on this bumper?

$1850 for a dual swingout just like Crusha's, with the removable 3 jerry can basket ( not pictured )

I think I put the license bracket a little bit too low, oops! I can make you another one that sits a little higher up away from harm if you want. send me a pm

The dust cap on the tire swingout can be a pain in the ***! The angle is tight under the jack holder base and it is difficult to drive the cap in . I think maybe if I drill a hole through the jack base holder to line up with the cap, then something can be put through the hole to drive the cap in sqaure and much easier. A piece of wood across the top and a lot of tapping back and forth is how I have been getting them in . The dust caps are standard drive in caps and available at most auto parts stores and trailer supply stores ($2-5 each) 1.98 inch, they do tend to get banged up quick so I will be including a extra set of them with my bumpers from now on, and will be looking into some metric hardware as well too

If anyone has any questions please feel free to send me a pm
Thanks

Sent Sean a pm with some questions anyone know if there is a better way of getting ahold of him than a pm on mud?

Hey Sean, how can we find you, and your great bumpers?

Did he write back? I can text him for you guys to check here. As you guys know this is just his side gig, he might just be really busy.
