Sean- Any chance of a version that doesn't require cutting the rear cross member? I have an aversion to non reversible mods.:worms:

How much are these for an 80?

Sean, great looking bumper! What is the price without the swing out, just the bumper, spindle, and integrated tow hitch?

Cheers, joel

Hey guys I am back at it again. I have been juggling electrical work and bumpers for far to long, I really do hope one day I can make the bumpers work and do what I love full time.

As an option I did come up with a swingout basket that swings off the ladder and latches shut with a truck door style bear claw latch . The basket pivots on 2x 5/8" heim joints, a gas spring to hold it open off camber and control the amount of travel it has.

lockable jerry can holddown finally came to me. keep the cans secure and locked and cover the spouts. I will have a hold down to fit the bolt on baskets I have already made and hope to have it soon.

Great work Sean! I really like the swingout basket. Something I really wish I had now that I have a rack and need to climb on the roof often. Could that be retrofitted to existing setups? Would we be able to buy all the brackets and hardware and simply weld it on ourselves? I'd be interested if you sell just the kit.

Thanks Jose, that great to hear. I think something like that could work. The ladder is basically the same, it needs 4 tabs welded to it, one for each heim, one for the catch pin, and one for the gas shock. The basket will need a little more work. The hooks will need to be cut off, two tabs welded for the heims, a latch mounting plate welded on, rubber bump stops attached to cushion the closing of it, a shock tab welded on, and then lining it all up which will take a little patience. I have not retro fit one yet so I cant say 100%, but for the average welder/fabricator it should not be a huge deal I would think.

I hope you keep making them. I was planning on buying one eventually.

Hey Sean, I have one of the original bolt on baskets. Will this new style hold-down you are getting work with NATO style cans?

I made the hold down using the blitz metal cans I have. I will be trying it out on some scepter and NATO style cans to see how it works with those guys too.

I finally had the free time to installed my bumper I bought from you.
GREAT BUILD QUALITY. (now I will be waiting on a 100 series bumper).

My daily configuration set up (of course with a spare in the holder).

2" hitch warning brake light in the extra 2" hitch receiver on the spare tire carrier.
(I actually wanted this option for a hitch bike carrier, to make it easier to get into the trunk)

And that's whathis looks like! Maybe it's just because I'm looking at it on my phone.
