Well, it is a powerful color after all.
Edit: Will the “real Cygnus White” please stand up.
I have this sense that Friday late shift at the YOTA plant, the painters going on duty we’re hitting the Saki pretty good before mixing up the Cygnus and Pewter batches.

RCLC has done an amazing job. The pins are just one example. We’re winding this one down and without waning nostalgic, there’s a sense of melancholy in finishing it up. From my perspective, it’s been the most productive project I ever started
. So much so, I may need to do another one…Just to keep my skills finely honed. I’m parting ways with the remains of 1.0 this Friday. I’m thinking Viking send off or Irish wake.

The hood hinges are a known rattle ony 40, it's been on my list of things to replace for some time now. That is why I asked, wondering if there was an off the shelf replacement. I actually have a set of the brass bushings that I picked up a while back from another member for the door hinges that are rumored to work on the hood hinges as well.
The ol mule is looking good, keep up the good work!

Truth be told I’m not doing much work. I’ve gotten a few homework assignments, but nothing to difficult. Mostly things I can’t screw up to badly.

They were the same pewter color until the ashtray went to plastic maybe around 8/80?. Also I think some of the really early clusters were body color.

Dropped an Easter Egg a few pages back.
We spent the better part of the winter going over options, cost to benefit, wheel/tire options (or lack of), juice worth the squeeze criteria, old school vice something OTB, color, etc etc etc. In the end we kept pointing back to the “52’s”. I’ll steal no thunder (or proprietary R and D) from the shop but an “Old school look” is forthcoming.

The Tundra is gassed and loaded.
Headed north on US 77 this AM. Meeting @jonesy4x4 today at RCLC for the Mule 1.0 tub handoff.
All indications are we’re thundering down the home stretch for completion of 2.0. I’ll post up some pics of the days activities later.
Talked with the upholstery shop Wednesday. Working out some final details on the door card design. The material is ordered and I’m in the on deck circle. This is the last piece of the puzzle for Phase I.

Not a jinx story but…I’m bringing it up so you can make someone aware.
Somewhere around 1972.. A friend of mine, took his motorcycle apart and had a very custom paint job done to it. I remember it took him months to get it back. In those days it was blow dots and a few small murals. He brings the bike home into his garage to add a few of the remaining parts onto it. One in particular was the license plate frame on the rear fender. Needed to drill three holes in the fender.
There were no such things as cordless drills so this one was plugged in and he brings the drill bit up to the fender mark where he is ready to drill the hole, but as many of us have seen sometimes …. the drill walks around and never stays put. This is exactly what happens as the drill bit walked all over his paint job and created carved scratch lines about 3 inches long .
My friend was so pissed off. He took the electric trail and threw it against the garage door where it stuck and embedded itself and stayed there for weeks. he may still have left it there all of those years
The moral of the story , watch out one drilling new holes . Nice Vader light
