@davework

Prepping the Overland hardware with the RCLC recipe. 😉 Thumbs up Dave on the “quality” kit…👍

That Overland stainless is terrific… cheap too 😳. But you’re deep, really deep. Can’t stop now

Free fall would be an apt term.

In Land cruiser physics, the term “free fall” is any project where an over zealous imagination and unchecked enthusiasm is the only restricting force acting upon it. In the context of quantum build relativity, where the desired result overtakes logic, and reason, a project in Free Fall will have no external force acting upon it.

A project, in the technical sense of the term "free fall", may not necessarily be falling down in the usual negative sense of the term. As a result, a project moving forwards might not normally be considered to be falling, but if it is subject to only the force of discretion it is said to be in free fall.
The Mule, is thus in free fall. 😑

Oh s#!t, I’m in free fall too….

Breakin’ her heart

Big week in the crosshairs.

Nice detail work on the ancillary pieces. Almost a shame the spare carrier will be hidden. The mounting bracket is looking 1st rate.

Ford versus Ferrari…We’ll, in this case, they’re working together.

With the disclosure of the Ferrari Brown on the tub, it only seamed fitting to work another iconic color into 2.0.
Ford Wimbledon White was the perfect choice. Suggested by Alex at RCLC and readily approved by a quorum of guilty participants.

No rules on a nonstandard tub with a Ferrari paint job. It has just enough tint to mix just right with the brown. Well, at least IMHO it does. The digital translation is not exact but, you get the idea.

1st pic captures the blending of the three primary colors used.

Again, I take no credit for anything. Beautiful work by skilled artisans doing what they do. I just tell the story.

The bib looks like it belongs on a DQ menu in the tasty treat section…🍦

I’m afraid to look at this rig for fear of scratching it with my eyeballs over the interwebs… I have no idea how you will actually drive it. Maybe I should get you a box of adult diapers as a gift. I know I’d be crapping myself once it’s out in the wild.

Insanely amazingl

Also, your bezel is right side up.

Agree with @RevISK Back in 1974 my friend had repainted his ‘73 FJ40 black sparkle with hot pink accessories, hood insert mural and roll bar…it was as deep a gloss as you have on your truck… for 6-7 months he could not drive it for fear of anything bumping the paint. It was beautiful. After about a year he was pulling tree stump and broke a birfield. I bought that truck and fixed the axle….found this moving stuff into the pole barn

I went through this with my 1925 Henderson 4. 30 years ago it was a perfect restoration I was offered near 30k for. I was fearful of it getting chipped from a stone I sold it. I had 2 years of work into that bike…Chrome wasn’t even invented yet…everything was nickel. The 4 cylinder in-line engine had poured babbited bearings.. I wasn’t willing to risk the possibility of losing it. It is in Switzerland…the money and this bike ….LOOOONG GONE

I’ll Probably run it over to the super store on the 1st of the month and park it close to the entrance just to get it over with.

The Wimbledon White against the Brown is spot on. May as well have been Fords version of Cygnus White.

We spent a lot of time talking back and forth about “the white”. Once the brown was down it turned serious. Sounds insane but the word “Vanilla” kept popping up in the discussion. The “Spray Master” took that criteria and went with it.

Mule 1.0 is resting comfortably in his new digs. New owner is in the middle of a remod on a newly acquired home. Looking forward to watching things take shape this winter…🍻

2.0 is taking on its own personality. Shaping up to be an exciting week or two. Big muscle movements on the tub are winding down. The detail pieces are coming together. So far, so good. Upholstery shop is on deck. I’m headed down on Monday late AM (Muffins in tow) to work out the last details on the door cards. Trying to keep the “spirit” of originality while stepping outside the box on the design.

@Chungas Revenge is the valve cover painted or polished? From the views I have seen, it is hard to tell. Either way: it awesome
