Here’s some more shiny bits: a full house! Got five gear boxes done; still three to go. Your tcase will go home tonight to start prep for shipment. Have to bring a special box in for the transmission. Luckily, the 4 speed next to it will be a local install: @Adarcy.

Checking the block on some small things.

These cushions are not exactly the correct ones for the battery tray. These are radiator support cushions. So, a little cleaning was in order.

Looks like everything is lined up to install the D.U.I. on Sunday. Had to enlist a second set of hands from down at the diesel shop. I bribed him with Burgers and cold snacks. This will also inaugurate the grilling season as well. Supposed to snow but can't let a little snow stand in the way of the grilling season.

Nothing tells the Mrs "I love you" quite like using her new dishwasher to knock the dust off a few TLC parts. It demonstrates that you are more than capable around a domestic kitchen appliance. She'll really appreciate your frugality when you remind her just how much money you saved her by not purchasing that Snap-On parts washer. The savings alone should more than make up for that time you washed and dried your hunting clothes "all by yourself", and accidently left a pheasant in the game pouch. Not only will the Lil woman be speechless and floored, but she's also going to phone her mother up immediately and tell her just how right she was about your decision-making process. Yes sir, you'll be known as one smart cookie from now on.

So, remember, when your "Pumpkin" has had a hard day at the BOTOX repair station, surprise her tonight with a radiator in her Jacuzzi Tub, an alternator on the coffee table, a 2F head in the dishwasher or just polish up the ole valve cover with one of her monogramed hand towels.

She'll love you for it...;)

A little cleaning today. Sort of tidying up a bit. Nothing like @GA Architect cleaning standards, just knocking the dust off so to speak.

Yes, and let us not forget the wonderful, heart-warming old-timey scent that heating a harmonic balancer, with frequent basting of the keyway with extra virgin 30wt, in the oven creates.
Sorta like baking fresh bread but different.

One of my friends had the 427 from his 64 Galaxie rebuilt so it doesn’t burn oil or run so rich anymore. His wife said she kind of misses the smells on his clothes when she does laundry. Always reminded her of when they were dating/first married. So moral: don’t worry about rich running or bad valve seals, your wife loves the stink!

Contrary to popular thinking, they also like it when you take over living rooms and spare bedrooms with hotrod/cruiser parts…. Ok, thread sidetrack/hijack over.

I believe this information belongs in tech, not chat. How Els are we serious builders ever going to learn from others.

I do believe we have a culture difference here, my little lady does not like the smell nor the dust from grinding steel. And she is not turned on by any oil smells.

And regarding the alternative use of kitchen equipment………………🧨

@StaleAle has similar pictures of his living and dining rooms!
My old friend Robert used to use the kitchen toaster oven to bake the paint on his motorcycle parts. I think he knew he was running a calculated risk: he died before his wife could divorce him!

Still collecting pieces and parts. New battery cables and terminals. I think I have all of the requisite grounding straps now to at least finish up that small task. Picked up a new temp sending unit and an adapter for the temp sending unit on the Sniper. I did hear from Mark @65swb45 and I have a new to me, fresh off the assembly line and waiting for transit, Trans/T-case. Trying to locate a shipper to haul from sunny Burbank Cali to cold and windy WV. If anyone in Mudville has a solution I'd be much obliged.

I think, at some point this summer, I'm going to pull the jump seats and redo the bottom metal. My prep work 6 years ago, give er' take a year, was not up to par. Starting to show a little dimpling. That leads a foot or so down the "Upgrade Hole", as I keep waffling back and forth on a repaint. I know it was "the plan" a few years ago. REF: just make it watertight to get through a hunting season or two. I'm defiantly/definitely not going to engage in any dramatic body work until after the next fall. Fact is, the Mule has sat out a couple hunting seasons in lieu of the Tundra anyway. Would love to have a complete repaint, maybe color change. I have some typical signs of a tin worm infestation in the rear sill, fender well tops and spot weld line on the fenders...

I'm pulling the top and doors off for summer, so I guess I could do a protracted cut and weld over the summer. Primer is a Toyota primary color for the 76 model. Having said that, I would like to find a good shop that could yank the body and do it justice....

Dude! Give yourself a year to just enjoy the truck before taking it down. Trust me on this.

ABSOLUTELY....!! Without question, this old man isn't going down that rabbit hole until I wear some of the rubber off of the Coopers.

And don't forget the mule has a date with those college girls for a ride around the lake. You go down that rabbit hole and they'll turn into old ladies.

I've got no dog in that hunt. Thats on the Mule...I think I need to cut him off the Zinc additive, the ZDDP is affecting his ego.
