I bought this FJ during covid
Paid too much, but is what it is.
Ran ok, kinda ruff, and drove straight. PO had done some work.
Six weeks or so I figured I would try to update it some.
There is some rust under the diamond plate. Not too bad anywhere else. Floors and pans are good. Eventually I may get some panels and really fix it, but that is more than I want to deal with right now.
Put a coat of cheap red paint on it, painted details, new badging, fixed a few ruff spots, cleaned up and painted interior and seat hardware.
Need to do roof next.
Had to replace the water pump, was leaking. Cleaned and redid the thermostat housing and thermostat.
New carb, old one was missing internal parts, have no idea how it was running.
Replaced the fuel pump.
Put a pertronix system and coil in.
New winch.
New rear bumpers.
Runs very well now.
New fan, old one was cracked.
I redid a 76 Bronco about 10 years ago, regretted selling ever since.
