Was looking at some pictures and noted I probably should have mentioned the welds earlier in the thread? We are doing lap joints created with a flange tool with a full weld.

Should have taken some better photos of the flange tool and contour of the lap joint. You can see this from the back, followed seam sealer.

Thanks for taking the time to take photos and post them here to show what a proper repair looks like.
Thanks for the affirmation J Mack. The lap joint, full weld and seam sealer should help future rusting at the weld/joint? In hindsight I wish I would have taken better pictures of the process.

Beautiful work very nice, But I would like to see a better pic of that flange tool, 👍
Here are some pics of the pneumatic version. Hopefully you can see in the close up the profile created by pressing the metal. It also has a punch to punch a hole in the metal for welding the two pieces together. There are manually operated flange tools. I'm not a metal guy so I hope I'm using the correct terminology? 😉

My next project............just kidding!!!

My good friend Gary @shmukster was parting out this 76 PIG. He wanted the drivetrain. Of course the body is totally gone. I tried to take everything and anything that was left. Thanks Gary.

Nice salvage, tip on storing doors...roll the windies down, my dad just popped one on his spare :frown:

Gee Bill I didn't realize I have so much stuff hanging from the second floor joists!!!!! Glad those parts went to a good local home.
When in doubt, look up . Always impressed with your inventory.

First time in about 2 years that it looks like a PIG again. It's a pretty site. Despite an inch of dust and still lots to do, it's looking good. Gives you some needed motivation.
