Thanks! The bed is very solid overall. I was expecting to see a lot more rot after getting the 4-5 layers of paint blasted off of it. The metal is also 16 gauge which I'm sure helps. But picking it up? That requires a tractor or a engine hoist, it's that heavy.

It DOES have a lot of metal fatigue, essentially all the upper corners are badly cracked. My guess is that it did many, many miles on rough gravel roads with stake side boards rattling around like crazy. Definitely fixable tho

Fully welded passenger downpipe and crossover. Using stainless clamps, fairly slick and easy disassembly

This is the coped crossover bit. The passenger side will single up into the driver side

No, I’ve only seen one other M715 out in the wild and actually driving under its own power. It was cruising around town and not like the ones you described. Be fun to see some more tho!

Everett Steel is always good, I just got the DOM through them although I order it from a friend with a commercial business so it's a bit cheaper then retail. I've been doing walk-up purchases from them for years.

OnlineMetals is also very good and they are in South Seattle. If you sign up for an account, they regularly have 20% off coupons. I buy a lot of smaller, specialty stuff from them. Like 316L or specific alloys like the 7075 aluminum for the steering.
