Working on the rear axle shock mounts

1.5” DOM mounts. These are King 2.5’s with 16” of travel. Rear are triple rate

Full bump driver, full droop passenger

They are big hoops but I guess that’s what you get when you have 16” King’s on a truck with nearly no lift

THANK YOU. Yeah the TIG is slow but I’d never done it prior to this build. Part of the goal was building skills. And any weld just about beats the factory ones from 68’ good grief. They look like they were done in a Friday afternoon by someone who’d been drinking on the job

Here’s a better shot of how we married the bed after shortening it. Inside cut eliminated the need to splice the horizontal bed surface. Pretty slick

Finally quit pouring rain this afternoon so I was able to push this out of the shop for some better overall pics

I suspect this will be a very good hill climber. Overall wheelbase is 124”
