2-FJ40-16791: Features of note---High B-pillar hard top model. Crank up door glass, not sliders. Ash tray in dash. Single-sided front turn signals.

Vin is late in the 1962 model/production run. Hard top model, high-b-pillar. Still has its stamped bezel. Engine looks like the original in spite of the "rebranding." Has ash tray and roll up windows.

I purchased it from a gentleman in Kansas a few months ago (he got it from the previous owner in New Mexico about 4 years ago).
NM owner had intended to do a diesel conversion, but stopped. I purchased it from Kansas owner with a 2F , 4spd, & T-case from a '76. Has original paint, with the only structural rust being the vertical portion of the sill above the rear bumper (reasonably easy fix). Everything else is minor surface rust, and oxidized paint......good blank canvas for a resto-mod.

1978 FJ40-258243 Sept 1977. Red. Alaska truck, drove it down from Fairbanks, across Yukon and British Columbia, back into Alaska to ferry from Haines to home in Juneau. Great road trip, never missed a lick.

Serial rescuer of old vehicles
Now that I have actually bought and paid for mine, I can share. Didn’t want to post it until it was really mine, seller might not have liked that.
1964 FJ40 FST with PTO winch. Original color apparently “bandaid”.
Data plate says 1964, serial number starts with 3 so I’m guessing built in ‘63. Originally sold in Oregon, USA, in November 1963.

It has lost the vast majority of its identity. But the apron air-inlet is still there and the stamped bezel is there. Can't tell if its original FJ25-leftover large gas cap is still there or if it has been replaced with something close.
