1-Fj40-10437 on eBay: 1961 Toyota Land Cruiser -- | eBay

It has lost the vast majority of its identity. But the apron air-inlet is still there and the stamped bezel is there. Can't tell if its original FJ25-leftover large gas cap is still there or if it has been replaced with something close.

That thing is all pieced together. Ambulance doors, 1978 and later hardtop, later style front doors, if the tub is a 61 hardtop it should have the high post b-pillars which it doesn't. Who ever purchases that will be very disappointed.

I thought I had added mine but I haven't evidently.

1970 FJ40 Build date 3/70 FJ40081594 Originally a FST but the original soft top is long gone and I have added a hard top and steel doors.
Original F engine (don't know the serial number), added H55 and split case, disc brakes and FJ60 power steering.
I am the 7th owner.

One more try...

Model year 1965
Frame No. 4-FJ40 23103
Model/Type FJ40L
Manufacture date (from the charts, Jan.1964?)
Engine F-192510
Brass tag: T-65

So frame vin location for a 61? I know later models its on the passenger side frame rail. What about 61's. The firewall tag is missing on one i picked up. According to SOR vin page it should be on the drivers side. Is this correct. I did not find one on the passenger side. And it does not look to be ground off. It is a 61 as far as i have learned here. No ash tray and welded seat brackets on the rear wheel hubs. Also has the centered rear axle. I would like to find a vin. If anyone with a 61 can chime in.

If your missing the vin tag look on the frame ... 61’s had it here as well... see pic (from sor)

Not yet on the list (and not mine) as seen for sale online. Factory soft top model. V8 engine swap. Many things modifed. Missing a lot of original parts. But still unmistakably a 1961 FJ40 with the straight ribs in the cargo bed, holes for tire inflation placard in dash, unique jump seat brackets, apron inlet.

1961 Land Cruiser. Rare Fj25 fj40 fj45.
