Right? I do miss that feature from my 4-runner. Or the powered rear vent windows on my 100-series.
I don't disagree on the MY2016 and there is some truth there based on the original 10 yr or less cadence: 60-series (1980), 80-series (1990), 100-series (1998), 200-series (2007).... 300-series (2021)
Oh man. I'm with you on that one. I really really hope that Toyota doesn't take the strategy - V6 more efficient, let's reduce tank size accordingly to save weight and improve payload. Especially crappy in the US as we get dinged further in range with piss grade ethanol fuel that has less energy content by volume.
Unfortunately less exercise without the extra 6 steps to the passenger side....but hopefully the gas mileage improvement will involve fewer trips to the pump anyway. The gas tank fill port on the driver's side is reason enough to upgrade!![]()
This car seems to be going in the 4 runner direction as a cash cow for toyota, and i don't like it at all.
How silly of me to think Toyota is in the business of making money. Someone should start a change.gov petition about something something. Perhaps send a prayer or two in addition to Facebook likes, to really drive the point home.
All your questions are answered here.
Until you realize you’ve been trained by your 200 to always pull up on the passenger sideThe gas tank fill port on the driver's side is reason enough to upgrade!![]()

IDK what exactly are you even trying to insinuate?
You could easily modernize the 4 Runner via nothing but software and a better nav screen
I prefer the passenger side.....pull into a busy Costco gas station and there's seldom a wait to fillThe gas tank fill port on the driver's side is reason enough to upgrade!![]()
Clearly.
Toyota makes business decisions based on their belief of what will maximize the ROI. If that means turning a vehicle into a "cash cow," then that's exactly what they will do. If they thought it was profitable to keep selling the LC in the US, they would still be selling it. If they thought that removing the "bunch of s*** we all want" was not going to be profitable, they would not have removed it. Toyota does not care about what you, I, or any other enthusiast thinks; they care about the people and markets that actually buy these vehicles, and 99.99% of those buyers' wants have little to no overlap with ours.
If it's so easy, please go ahead and do it. I'm sure you'll have buyers lined up around the block and will be rolling in money in no time. After all, your extensive market research has
BINGO!!! way better shape for big tires on the new one, proly go 37's!!!I want to use the new KDSS/front sway bar in my 200.
*searches partsouq for one to try*
I'm mixed on this one. On one hand it's kinda nice to be able to sit on the tailgate or use it as a table. I also like being able to open the top of the trunk and see what's in there (and keep stuff from rolling out as I open the bottom). OTOH with taller tires and a mild lift I can't reach sh*t that's more than half way into the trunk unless I climb up on the tailgate, which is just silly.NO TAILGATE!? C'mon man! WTF, Toyota.
That was a signature soundI'm surprised they finally decided to go with an electric fan. I've always liked the Toyota truck jet-engine-will-suck-in-small-animals sound on startup.
