Hi All
I've started doing restoration for 1984 FJ60.
I've don't full sandplasting for both body & chassi.
The car All most ready to go for the second step to go ahead with engine.

I have 2UZ-FE V8 engine from 1998 VX-R 5 speed manual transmission.

I'm thinking to go ahead to put the 2UZ-FE V8 with H55f 5 speed transmission on the FJ60.

I would like to know if 2UZ-FE V8 fit properly to H55f or its complicated and need more work & parts.

Dose the 2UZ-FE V8 engine also fit on FJ60 chassi properly or i need to do something more?

My plan to keep the car with toyota engine & transmission for daily drive with no problem & more power than F2 engine.

Any advise what parts need to add to go ahead and complete this project.

Regards

Nasser

Why not keep the H150/H151 that the 2UZ already bolts up to?

I'm doing two project for both car fj60 & VX-R 100 series.
Both having manual transmission.
I'm thinking to put the 4.7 2UZ-FE in fj60 to keep it classic with more power.
Then to buy 5.7 land cruiser or 6.0 ls engine for VX-R.
Or I have to buy extra manual transmission if I pulled engine & transmission for VX-R.
Then the H55F will not be use.
Dose the fj60 also need to change both driveshaft? If I install both of 2UZ-FE & transmission for VX-R?

To mate UZ to h55 - you need to adapt the housing. This is nothing new in the world of adapters. You need to choose your bellhousing - best choice is 2UZ housing for 5spd - adapt h55 to that housing. Downside is the slave is rear-facing. You can use the auto bell housing but you'd need to adapt external slave or hydraulic slave internally.

My recommendation is 2UZ 5spd bell housing, adapt from that to H55. Basically steel/aluminum plate drilled to mount to trans/bellhousing and is concentric to UZ pilot bearing and ensure input shaft length fits into pilot bearing. Youtube has a number of videos showing how for various engines - same theory applies. Be a real chief and sand cast your own bell housing or use H150/151, make new mounts and adjust driveline accordingly. Rest is mounting the entire UZ wiring harness/integrate with chassis harness in the vehicle. Avoid immobilizer engine and even easier is the early 1/2UZ that is cable throttle instead of DBW. Then reroute fuel lines and adjust size if necessary and install inline or in-tank fuel pump and determine your cooling system design.

Bellhousing already designed.

Yes and it appears @cruiserjunktion wasn't a fan of it either when adapting for slaves, but I have no experience. I loathe internal/hydraulic slaves. Not entirely sure why external slave wasn't used.

internal slave is the best. instant response with zero clutch fork slop. That's what I would use, I'm going to be putting one in my LS/NV4500 setup later this year

If the ECU doesn’t say 2uz - MT. I think you need to find one that does.
