Instead of using a paper gasket, I had a couple of 13B-T oil strainer metal crush gaskets. Decided to modify it to match the contour of the oil return line fitting:

Came out pretty good:

3B Turbo Exhaust Flange studs and nuts
Used some OEM Aisin manual hub face bolts (91641-80616) for the oil return fitting... worked out perfectly.

The lower bolt is a bugger to get to. These Snap-On off-set wrenches did wonders... one small turn at a time... Highly recommend the investment in them.

New studs for the exhaust pipe connection in conjunction with 90179-08059 O2 sensor lock nuts. Perfect for this high heat application. They are on there gently. The studs will be fed through the flange once everything is back into place...

And the best news of the day, @Indestructible 47 was able to find me a number #2 main bearing cap out of Oz from an engine with the matching casting part number. Huge win here and it will hopefully be on its way to the US shortly.

Huge gratitude to @Indestructible 47 for his assistance as well as @AussieHJCruza for reaching out to me directly with offers of assistance from all the way on the other side of the planet.

I can’t thank them enough for assisting someone they don’t even know in their time of need.

Really goes to show how awesome and tight-knit the global Land Cruiser community really is.

Thanks to all those folks who reached out with offers of assistance... especially my Canadian amigos.

Kudos gents!

Casting marks are the same and the 16mm bolt diameter is confirmed.

@Indestructible 47 and @AussieHJCruza

I was beginning to fear for my quarantine life.

💋💋 from New York!

Awesome news! Onur, I have the same kit as you from Keith and my flared down pipe has always leaked. A few years back I had him send me a "mandrel bent" down pipe but when it came in it was actually same crush bent aluminized pipe with a muffler shop flare on the end. For the longest time I've been meaning to order one of these

and build a proper 2.5 inch dump pipe but have yet to do it. What do you have on yours?

I’ve got the downpipe sent with the kit to a 3” pipe all the back. No muffler. Has a flexible portion as it turns from the down pipe under the body. That’s about it. Local ATL mom and pop shop near ACC.

The clearance is pretty tight on a 70. It’s burned through the speedo cable shielding pretty well. I have a new one I’m going to install while the engine is out.

I am hoping to do another full exhaust from the turbo back maybe this fall when I know I am still employed.

3B oil cooler and gaskets
I was able to score a good oil cooler assembly from Abel @too tall -- thank you sir!.

These had crappy paper gaskets on them. No thanks.

I thought a bit and remembered the 1FZ-FE 15785-66010 metal crush gaskets for the oil cooler.

Will they fit?

That’s a Bingo! Boom.

3B fuel filter upgrade
Trying out a new Denso fuel filter. My buddy @gifu turned me on to this unit. Never tried it. It’s available in the US market, is a direct fit, but requires an HS-7 for parts release. Not an issue, but not easily attainable.

It’s a significant size increase over the stock -64010 fuel filter.

Installed some new inlet and outlet gaskets at the same time.

Any idea if that would fit on a 2H/12HT? That's got to be a lot more filter media surface area. I've been using 23303-54072 which is, according to my parts diagrams, what the 12HT takes so I suspect it might not fit

No issue with it being that tall and still fitting?

Not a direct fit. These 70 series truck have a remote mount filter with a sedimenter in the bottom portion that you move filter to filter when you replace them.

You could probably easily adapt it by using a 3B or 1HZ remote filter mount and then using it inline. I doubt it would be very difficult to set something up.

Aaaha! So the 70s all had the remote filter? might be able to rig something up then.

I wouldn’t say all, that was more of rotary pump affair. I pulled my 3b from a japan spec 85 bj70 like his.

Onur, maybe I missed it somewhere but, what was the deal with your original oil cooler?

Correct. Rotary pump style 3B engines will have a remote fuel filter.

Inline IP will have the 23300-56031 filter on the LH side of the engine at the top.

Oil cooler studs were rusted... almost disintegrated. Studs are not available separately from the assy.
