Can you document which of the 3 or 4 oil plugs on the passenger side that you plug your oil line feed to the turbo. I spoke to Keith and he said the third one was his recommendation near cylinder 3.

So looking for that detail.

Ive had the pleasure of having to remove probably a couple of hundred of them while doing ignition recalls.

that was always the worst part of doing that recall, laying under the dash to cut a slot into the bolt so you could hopefully get it out and getting tiny aluminum flakes in you face

Excellent work! Really enjoying all the great information here.

I do have a question re: thermostats. I see you're using a 90916-03103, which you mention starts opening at 88C.
ToyoDiy lists a 90916-03059 as original for Japan market, so I assume the 03103 is functionally equivalent and supersedes the 03059?

My BJ75 is a European model, and also calls for a 90916-03059
Middle East and General Market is 90916-03066 (82C-95C), presumably due to the warmer climate in the Middle East and Australia?

The internet is full of vendors who will sell a thermostat "suitable for a 3B", but I wonder if you could list OEM part numbers + temp ranges of thermostats Toyota intended for the 3B?

Thanks!

Interior parts
Some small bits and pieces today as I prepare whole assemblies for the dash install...

The rear license plate wiring harness has a body grommet that is not available separately from the harness.

Was able to find a holed grommet from an FJ40 that works perfectly:

The glove box door has two little rubber bumpers... don’t forget them. :)

Hey Onur, you are literally building a new car man, everything that goes back on the truck is new! What will you be doing with all the old parts? Spares?

So how much of a nightmare is replacing that foam on the damper door? Mine is beat down and leaks outside air around it. Is that doable in vehicle or do I have to pull a bunch of crap first?

The unit needs to be removed and then the casing for the blower motor disassembled. I used the OEM foam kit in all the areas requiring foam sealing in the HVAC system.

One stud at the top and 2 bolts. The two lower bolts are much easier to get to than the stud/nut combo at the top. You will need to remove the glove box door, the glove box itself to be able to access the upper stud/nut without removing the dash assembly as I have.

Great, I was afraid I was going to have to pull all sorts of things out to fix that. Thanks for the part number as well!
