So much hardware porn in here, can turn these images into a coffee table book

Funny you said that. I just spent the afternoon going though all of my OEM hardware. M6/8 in one drawer, M10/12/14 in another... and kept some of the old school special numbered bolts from the 60’s/70’s/80’s.

Are you in charge of digging the holes for those posts?

LOL - diggin' in the dirt.....Only way yer hands will get "clean" for the next round of 3B rejuvi!

Excellent build, Onur... thank you for documenting it.

I have a spare/used 15bft oil cooler. Do you want to see if it will work with the older B? I'll send it down if you are interested. They are still available new.

Thanks Brian! You are only 2.5hrs from me... want to come down and supervise? :)

Interesting about the 15B-FT oil cooler. Let me look at some schematics and part numbers.

Thanks for the lead.

And got materials for an interim project while I wait for parts and machine work... not my doing... I’m the labor...

thatll keep ya busy for a few days, if its going to rain cover them up as they soak up more water than you think and get very heavy.

Woodstock? Under 2 hours.... but down to one vehicle here, the 200. Can't leave the fam w/o transportation. I doubt my Taco will be back up for at least another 2 weeks, and the BJ is still in the barn. Bummer!

We'll have to work remotely, lol!

green paint on all the main bearing cap which should mean #2: 2.485 to 2.490 mm STD size
Have a difference in con rod bearing, 1 green and three yellow paint mark.

huh? Yes I understand the sizing but those colors have long worn off. Everything will be STD on the rebuild.

Yes I was skeptical when readind the FSM but all the paint mark are still there! (2020). Have the same block number 11411-58040. I'm also rebuilding the 3B.
Thanks for sharing all your info, much appreciate....

My best findings, as of right now, show the cooler chould(?) work using the later style oil gallery passage gaskets 15785-58010. The oil cooler case to block gasket supersedes out to the same number 15725-56020. The 15BFT looks like a second gen 3B in this area.

I'd hate to see you lose a fresh engine if a used 30 year old oil cooler gives up a small chunk of built up debris while the filter is in bypass.... While not super probable, it is possible.

I’ll take a look into it Brian. I’ve been keeping brake parts cleaner in the cooler for the past few days. Agitating and then emptying. I’ve done that at least ten times and the brake parts cleaner is coming out pretty clean now.

Snagged the last one of these. Even came in the cool old boxes from years ago. This one had been sitting on the NAPCC (North American Parts Center, California) shelf for a long time...

I refer to the Toyota hardware part numbering documentation when ordering bulk hardware:
