And removed the down-pipe

I will need to find a spot for the power steering reservoir to keep moving forward. Then will need to finally mount the Boost, EGT, and Temp gauges to monitor engine variables.

Your Chipotle made me hungry!

It was tough to find a place that was higher than the PS pump. which is what has to be.. If you have a BODY lift, you can find one to mount on the pump (60 series). If no body lift, it would sit too high, and hit the hood

If you run dual batteries, the battery on the right side is in the way for mounting it in the stock location for a BJ74. and the turbo is in the way for the stock BJ70 location. For me, 24V meant I had to have 2 batteries, and one had to move there due to the brake booster change.

I had to make a bracket to go over that battery, and mount it in the gap between that battery and the engine. 2 straps (one over the battery, one in front of it) to the fender apron, 2 straps down to the fender well.

Hi Roger,
Chipotle was very good  :D

Correct. Space is very limited. My BJ70 is 12V but it came with two batteries (which I like). I was thinking to install it somehow attached to the airbox as Bruce @basfire did on his BJ70, but it requires some fabrication and finesse. It seems that you know when you start these projects, but it is rather uncertain to know when will you really finish them...hahaha

One part that I am dreading is the wiring for the gauges...Wiring is one of those things that I end up re-doing two or three times as I will not be happy with the 1st attempt. On the plus side, I know I will love to drive the truck even more with the turbo.

Very precise work as usual.

Thanks, Charles!...greatly appreciated.

Stunning work. Setting a high bar for us.

You could be the new Wayne. ;)

Thanks for the kind words, Ward!...though those are big shoes to fill. One thing is sure, we all have learned and got ideas from Wayne's projects @crushers

This weekend I spent a little time trying to figure out the power steering reservoir issue.

I had bought a new air cleaner assembly from Yan @Akella, correct for the factory Toyota snorkel.

I mocked and marked where I wanted the reservoir to go, then cut and bent the stock legs of the power steering mounting bracket.

I used the factory L support bracket on the air cleaner along with an extra hole that I had to drill on the new air cleaner assembly. Put rubber gaskets and washers where the hole went through the aircleaner and also used a little silicon for extra insurance.

I am pretty happy with the results and it is pretty solid.

You keep modifying that thing and it will eventually be a BJ74. :grinpimp:

Not sure if I posted these before, but here are a couple of cool videos of the same trip to Angel Falls I did with these guys in September 2012 but on two other occasions:

P.S. If you wonder what's up with the ramdom pictures, I guess that I would think it will keep the thread more interesting that just engine bay photos if I add some other images to the mix. I will try to add 70-series photos (from trips I've been) on my 70-series thread and 40-series photos to the BJ40 thread. Let me know if you guys think it is a good idea. I have several cool photos from these trips that haven't been shown yet.

Since Wayne voted yes I was tempted to vote no just to negate his vote but I changed my mind at the last minute and voted yes.
Democracy at its best....... :)

well then i change my vote to NO ...

Obviously I will have to contact Alberto personally and vote in secret.
Pushy Canadians .........
