Sure is handy. For mine I was able to procure an extra oem cross support with the factory mount. Both lights switched separately. A little stronger on the support side prevents oil-canning.I really like the thought of a rear cargo area dome light!!
I’m going to have to back through my build, I think you have different provisions in ‘78…Rear dome light mount bolts in. Light switch faces the rear, there were two threaded holes on each side of the body, worked out really well. 3/4"x.120 square tubing.
Made three more light mounts and kept the templates for future builds.

If you had him cut that mount off and weld it on the other side it wouldn’t interfere with the column bucket (or whatever you call that thing). Plenty of wide open space on the right side.
Getting to the PP in any way counts. Glad you are going to make it.Going to pickup the 74 55 in Nampa, visit BATPIG in the body shop and head toward PP24. I know it doesn’t really “count” to trailer your pig to the party, but times are rough, man.
So… you have a good understanding?I guts me a size Shaq![]()
Are you going cable because of the pedal relocation?Spare tire mount planning. Gas pedal cable provision roughed in.

Yeah it does!!!That widened wheel looks great
That is going to be nice to have a little more foot room!Gave it as much as possible at the pedal spot, I wear a size 14 or 15 shoe.
Straightened out out the tunnel front to back, got rid of the stock raised floor portion.

I can't wait to see the end result!Brake and clutch pedal pads will get shifted to the left.
Overall gain is 1"+ of room at the pedal snd hopefully a more comfortable heel position.
Planning to add a throttle stop, so the sniper can be opened all the way, but not over tension the cable.
Pedal location, resting leg support under the thigh, seat angle, shifter bent to fit resting arm feel, arms reach to knobs, all the little details make a difference.
Especially in land cruisers where the pedals and shifter were generally placed for small people.
