And I uploaded rear wheel Well sectional
Bob, a little extra penetration is a good thing! Ewe know what I mean!

I plan to pump every crack, crevice and void in the truck full of Penetrol and strategically drill holes and place rubber plugs to allow me to re-up the protection using a garden sprayer every couple of years as needed.

Might want to look into an injection gun, I used ValuGard Rustproofing on mine but it would spray your Penetrol just fine and let you “penetrate deeper in to the voids” if that’s important to you.

This is the gun I have.

I love it! I spray Fluid Film on everything and in every hole

It’s my new love.

Fluid film is local. Lowe’s and HD. I buy a can or two every trip in there
Same for Penetrol. At Lowe’s or Home Depot in the paint section.

More slow progress on the PS floor.

A friend of mine 3D printed a tailgate handle for me. It works, but it's a little flimsy. He's going to print me another one infused with kevlar to stiffen it up a bit. I decided to remove and thoroughly clean and adjust the tailgate latch mechanisms to give the 3D printed handle every possible advantage to work properly. The mounting screws were replaced with stainless steel.

Replaced all the fuel lines with new 5/16" fuel rated lines. No pic of that just yet.

Bucky and I had a very productive holiday weekend. I got another section of floor burned in.

POR-15 applied to the fender well. See those fender lip holes? Of course you do. I decided to leave the rear fender sections alone for now and concentrate on doing just what is necessary to get this pig back on the road. The swiss cheese rear fenders will stay for a while. I do plan to fix all that once I get some windshield time with the truck. Right now I just want to get it on the road and have some fun with it. I've been fixing rust for nine months and it is a slow, painful process. I need a break.

I scraped off all the old undercoating from underneath the truck from the rear axle back to the rear bumper and followed with a wire brush, paint and a liberal application of Fluid Film. My gas tank has been repaired, but the shop told me to be on the lookout for another tank. They said that this one is on its last leg. It's not leaking at the moment, but it's rough. I went ahead and installed it along with fresh fuel lines and evap lines.

I never cared for the black rear bumper, so I decided to return Bucky back to a more factory look. My plan is to eventually cut off the hideously cobbled receiver hitch setup and do something different. I am hoping to find someone close by with a torch or plasma to do this. If I do it with an angle grinder and sawzall, it will take me forever.

What did they print the handle with? Can we see pics?

My buddy scanned the handle and printed it with regular PLA (polylactide). I will take some pics and post up.

Here are a couple of pics of the 3D printed handle. My buddy is printing another one for me in Kevlar so when he brings that one, I’ll take pics before I install it.

I picked up a crusty set of old school load bars for a great price (free) to install on Bucky. They will come in handy for canoe transport. The bars were sanded, primed and painted smoke gray to match the factory steel wheels. Nathan is a huge fan of this old truck and he’s claimed it for his own. I guess we will see......

The 55 is looking good and you look too young to be driving already. :) Do you have a fuel door and parts?
Thank you, sir! I do have a fuel door. I had taken it off to check the paint match against the new Tacoma Quicksand paint. It was not a good match. Looks like Bucky will need a custom paint match since I can’t find any info on the factory tan color code.

Bucky got a new (well, not new but at least not broken) passenger side mirror. Finished up burning in the passenger side floor. Primed now and ready for seam seal and paint. More pics later.

If that head isn’t cracked keep it, just needs a glass shop to replace mirror.

Floor all burned in, primed and seam sealed on the top side and underneath. Ready for paint. Waiting for seam sealer to dry, I decided to start working on patching the passenger side front fender. Someone must have had an antenna mounted in the fender at one time as evidenced by the perfect hole. Also cut out the typical rust spot down low on the fender and burned in a new patch.
