Is Bucky coming to CRR 2022?
And yes that is a sweet 55....
I was hoping to have my ‘82 FJ40 ready in time for CRR, but it’s moving too slow. It will probably be Bucky at CRR once again this year. That’s okay. Bucky is more fun anyway!

Good to meet you at Cruise Moab, Dave. Thanks for introducing yourself. Hope you'll make our western Pig Party some day in Bucky. Maybe we'll see you at the next SSS.

Good to meet you too, Jim. That’s a fine swine you have. SSS or a Pig Party would be awesome. We’ll see what we can do.

I might be getting into the pig scene with a 71 fj55 soon and this build is the perfect motivation for it! Bucky is a beautiful truck! do you still have it?
Thanks @Roastchestnuts .There are some things in life that can't be bought or sold. Bucky is one of those things. I do still have the truck, and enjoy driving it regularly.

I hear you! its a beautiful truck! Once I get working on this fj55 Ill probibly hit you up on information on some of the weld repairs. I like what you did with the rockers. I think owners of the one I am looking at have patch rockers with it but we will see once I get it. Same color as yours! If you ever make it out to the outer banks take the ferry to Ocracoke NC and say hi!

I used a cheap harbor freight pneumatic flange tool on the floor pans where my new sheet metal met up with the non-rusty sections of original floor. The C channel worked out well, and I was able to plug weld the floor into the C-channel sections to quiet everything down and prevent oil canning. I would suggest using a weld through primer at all of your weld joints prior to welding. I like the U-POL zinc. Once everything was finished, I seam sealed all the joints and painted everything. Good luck to you!

Thanks man! I was wondering if you plug welded the floor to the C channel. I have been taking alot of info from your build thread and applying it to mine. Just because I think you went with the same ethos with your build as I am doing with the salted pork wagon. If mine didnt come with the replacement rockers I would have gone with the 2x4 like you did too. Anyways I appreciate it!
