Got more work done on the FJ.
 
Maybe I missed it, what did you do with the old 427? and why did you not use it?
 
currently it is on the shelf at my shop. I opted for fuel injection in the form of a built 700 hp LS motor. the BB did have a cool factor to it.
 
Usually people do block header type headers. The way u have them now it will cook the brake master cylinder as well as the firewall.
When the BB was in the FJ the headers ran in about the same place because of space. The floor boards got a little warm but the master cylinder was fine. I think it will be ok.
 
it's amazing how tight that area gets in the front over the axle. Idle curiosity, have you crossed it up with one tire are bump and the other at full drop to be certain the tire/spring isn't an interference fit? My thought is you could move the top in a scotch (just a bit more then a hair but not a full c-hair) to get more if you need it....

It gets close but it don't hit I have lifted it twisted it poked it prodded it. Everything seems to clear
