Hope I don’t scratch anything 😂

I am the apprentice. All hat, no cowboy 😂. I need someone who knows what they’re doing.

Yeah, I need one 👍

Temperature Sender Gage stuff - try and consolidate info here

Engine temp: cold, 54-deg F, IR measurement at base of sender mount
Engine not running
Voltage at gauge connect wire, unhooked: 12.5v (same as at fuse box)
Voltage “ “ “ “ , hooked up: starts at 6.15v, then starts to fluctuate after a bit between 6.2v and ~10v
Resistance at sender, unhooked: 38.7ohms
Temperature gauge reading: C

Engine temp: IR measurements ~150-deg F @ thermostat housing, ~165-deg @ base of temp sender housing
IMG_3744.JPG

Engine idling but after driving it a fair bit
Voltage at gauge connect wire, unhooked: 14v (same as at fuse box)
Voltage “ “ “ “ , hooked up: fluctuates between ~10v and ~12v
Resistance at sender, unhooked: 38.9ohms
Temperature gauge reading: 1/4 mark

Data as of 5/1/2022
I think my running measurement may have been with the thermostat still closed or maybe the thermostat isn’t closing, stuck open. 🤷‍♂️

Non-tech, non-cruiser post.

Boring pic of one of our summer ponds. Good to see the water, we need it (you can see my 40 off in the distance to the right).

About two minutes after I took this pic my Brittanys pointed up a mountain lion. I was about 8ft away. Fortunately it wasn’t aggressive and took off after a bit of bird shot incentive. A bit close for this Boy Scout 😂

8’ from a mtn lion?!? What size was it? Are your dogs trained for any kind of hunting, i know they are good bird dogs? My 40lb terrier decided he wanted to taste Coyote blood Sunday and he got his wish. He quickly found that 4 vs 1 isnt a very fair fight and ended up with a trip to the doggy hospital. Makes me ponder what instinct he was operating on (Protection/hunting/just being a bully in general) and if he’d do the same with a cat. I sure hope he’d have the sense to know better. Glad no harm to you or the pups.

Full size, at least not cub size 😂, but I’ve never been close enough to one to know the difference. Dogs were looking for upland birds, that’s their wheelhouse. I was back about 50yds when their collars started to beep, which means they’re no longer moving and on point. When I caught up to them about 30secs later I expected quail to bust out of the big bush they were pointing on, but instead when I looked down below us the cat was slowly moving down the ephemeral creek bottom, 8’ or so below us. It stopped, looking and facing away from us, both dogs watching but still pointing. I’ve had them point up porcupine, badger and stray house cats this same way. Even a small black bear a few years ago. So far no rattlesnakes. That’s why I carry my 357 with a couple of snake/bird shot rounds when I’m not actually bird hunting with a 12ga shotgun.

Hard to see in this pic, but in the tree in the middle of the pic there’s a small black bear trying to get its fat butt up into the tree fork. The horses sensed it was there long before we saw it, so they’re good pointers too.

I guess time to put the snow tires back on. Or sit by the fire and drink another cup of coffee. On May 9th 😂.

Wow. That was impressive.

According to snotel, Bogus has 17" of new snow since midnight...I'm debating scraping my summer wax off my board and heading up. As I'm sure not going to head out for a bike ride.

Got these from Mark @cppilot for the cruiser fleet. Very fun!

Finally finished this chore. Tech —> the puttering around to get this done officially yielded me 12.07mpg.
