Getting started on stripping the tub.
Have a buddy thats going to media blast, prime and throw some red at it.

whelp looks like im not as scot-free as i thought i was....ill be breaking the blue box of fun out after all.
I got the hose out and washed off all the caked on mud that was doing an excellent job of covering this up. I followed the hose up with a grinder, and like we say in the code shop, "grind till the defect goes away, or you see the light of day".

What did the early 25’s/40’s do for a front window defrost? Nothing?!?! Wipe it off with a rag? I had expected to see holes in the top of the dash/bottom of the window frame which then allow defrost ducts like on my ‘63 FJ-45.

@brian are you going to blast/paint the frame too?

Men were certainly more manly back then.
I doubt blasting, but will work on the frame once the tub is removed.

@brian do you want an original harness or are you ok with a aftermarket like painless? There’s several companies in Australia who make them.

@Coolerman is the wiring guy but I don’t think he does the full harness rebuilds anymore but he does have the connections and wires listed for sale on his website.

I want a new harness, but preferably not painless, I would love to have oe colored wires.

Coolerman sells color correct wire, plugs and terminal ends. What he doesn't have can probably be sourced from other vendors on here. I used him for parts and wire for repairs and alterations to keep the colors consistent with the stk wiring harness.

bunch of rodent damage on the wiper motor harness and on the main harness, corroded terminals....unlikely to retain the genny. not really interested in putting the effort into trying to salvage something that would be hacked up anyway trying to fix it.

Opened the trans to have a look see....nothing appears to be out of place.

I'm sure some might chuckle while others might wtf me, but I just figured out it has an oil bath air filter, with oil still in it.

Yup, just pull it off as straight as possible. It sits over a bunch of fingers if that makes sense.

I'm assuming that the wheel ans shaft are splined?

Called the old school radiator shop in town to ask if they would take a look at the gas tank, turns out that most of their business these days is cleaning up antique tanks. So I might drop that off tomorrow morning.
As soon as I figure out how to get the steering wheel off I can start figuring out how the shift linkage comes apart and then I'll be about ready to start breaking body mounts off it....after I address the rear sill.

Removing steering wheel

Replacing my contact pin for my horn. Figured I could mess that up...The nut in the center of the wheel is very tight or I am turning it the wrong way. Can someone tell me if that nut is reversed threaded or lefty loosey :)
