Got rid of the PO401
Was not looking forward to dealing with the VSV
Gambled prob was the vacuum modulator, it was clogged
Cleaned it and EGR valve and everything related that I could get to
Took it for a good run, shut it off and waited a few minutes, fired it up drove it to smog shop, CEL cleared up on way there
Passed smog, woohoo

What's up with this sudden love for 40s?

I’ve always had a love for 40s. Still regret doing the LS conversion on mine...

The mystery is over, I often wondered what black fender gaskets would look on a white Land Cruiser since white is no longer available.:)

@LandCruiserPhil - I recieved white replacement gasket for all 4 fenders 2 months ago. This was for a '92. Is there any difference between the FJ and FZJ?

Excellent question I need to check
I could not find Toyota USA link
I did look up 53851-60020-08 ► 01/1990-07/1992 FJ80L-GNPNEA 53-53

Ill look in more detail to make sure

The past 2-3 pages here. Joey has one on his driveway now, Jeff is out hunting, lots of pics with 40's on trailers, etc.

I don't have that bug, so I don't get it anyway.

There is no more iconic off road vehicle than a 40. I love my 80s but a 40 is just a different animal.

Isn’t there a difference in the size of the flares? IIRC 91-94 are all one size and 95-97 are different. Maybe it is 91-92 & 93-97. I could compare my 92&93 tonight but I’m sure @beno or @cruiserdan can clarify this.

Fresh stitches and a switch to a hard shell Roofnest.

I agree. But the 40 was my first Toyota to ever own. Love 40s but love the 80 even more. Mine was a 69 but finally got tired of no power steering and the wife and kids hated riding in it. looking for a newer 40 75 and up. 40s run forever though the engines and transmissions never die. By far more reliable than any vehicle I have ever owned. Sadly I sold mine a few months ago but sometimes people make offers you can't refuse. Now it's time to buy another.

My first car was an fj45 troopy. I still want to give myself an uppercut every time I think about when I sold it.

Bought a ‘96 FZJ80 this weekend that looks like it had never been shifted into 4L or had the lockers engaged. When I went to go test drive it, the CDL/ABS lights weren’t coming on when I engaged 4L which was great for me to get the price even lower.

After some reading and searching on Mud I pulled the CDL position switch on the TC and worked it and put a current through it. Put it back in and wa-la the CDL/ABS lights came on and even better...these work now

**also note the D light still works**
