Hi everyone,
I'm a complete noob to the forum, but have been thinking about picking up a TLC and found this in my local CL. Does anyone in the community recognize this rig? I tried emailing for details with no response from the seller and am wondering if it might be a scam.

Unfortunately I went out to move my FJ55 and noticed that a snow plow hit the left rear end and dented it. I feel like this pig is going to get ruined if I don't sell it ASAP. I have had a lot of interest when it was $1,200.
Its definately fixable, I just can't do it nor do I have the time.
I'll post the CL ad.
$700 and it runs and the parts are in good condition.

Wanting to get as close to 1k for it. Bought it 2 years ago to steal the drivetrain for another fj at the time. Have since sold that other fj. No longer have time for projects with new job. Selling off a bunch of rigs.
I am looking for a pre - 1976 FJ55 Land Cruiser (Iron Pig). The main focus I am searching for is a solid body (Surface rust and MINOR cancer is okay). Minimal dents and dings, and uncut. (Not looking for an ex rock crawler)

I have been collecting a few parts for the rig to be built. So what I have for sale is the complete body and chassis with axles. No motor or tranny. The truck is a very solid rig and would make a great rig for some one. I have a perfect 1971 frame to replace the hacked up one that I bought with the truck. Sherman the Family Tank is up for sale. We are moving on to new projects and have a daughter going to college so Sherman needs a good,new home. Sherman is set up as an expedition/camping vehicle and has served us well.
Thanks for all the interest and advice. Based on some of this good, friendly advice, I have decided I have been a bit too proud of all the work that I cannot expect to get back out of the vehicle. It is very tough to set a price on something that has nothing to compare it to. That said, I believe the lower price is very reasonable for the condition of Sherman and the equipment that is coming with.

I'm currently "cruiserless" and thinking about another one and I'd like to have a project to work on. If anybody in or near GEORGIA has a FJ40 or FJ55 project that they want to unload then let me know what you have. No engine or bad engine would be fine in that I'm thinking on a V8 or diesel swap.

Want to sell my 1976 fj55 runner.
Typical rust spots. very little compared to some Ive seen. None on roof. Little on Fenders, little under the back seat. Chrome is in excellent condition.

Okay, I posted up looking for a diesel but have decided that I want to do a swap myself so I need to find a Cruiser. Leaving the Rover world for greener pastures I guess...
Want to buy:
- FJ55 or FJ60 (would prefer the 60 as Im not really a fan of the square lamps and I like a manual transmission)
- Preferably somewhere around Va with a SOLID body. I would like to have something as rust free as possible and am willing to pay a little more for it.
- If it runs well enough to get home, thats nice. If not, I have a truck and can get a trailer easy enough.

Here is a project for all you Iron Pig guys. It pains me somethin' awful to consider parting ways with it but reality is setting in and my time and monies need to be focused in other directions for the next little while. This is a 1973 FJ55 that we got up and running and then decided to build with a little more depth 'cause my wife didn't like the fact that your could see the road moving by underfooot due to the rusted through floorboards. So we found a 1975 with a better body and did a body swap. This is not a classic numbers matching restoration but a good solid transformation in to a workable, driveable vehicle. Keep in mind that it is definitely a work in progress but it has a bunch of very desireable conversions and add-ons...

I bought this cruiser about 4 years ago thinking I would have time to restore it. That hasn't happened other than a few weeks of cleaning and preserving what is there. My intentions were to restore it to the way it was when it rolled off the assembly line. As you will see by the massive amount of 55 parts I have collected for it over the past 4 years all it would take is to have someone do the body work on it, paint it and then put everything on. I consider that the easy part. Collecting the parts to do this over the past 4 years was the hard part.

Original-Owner FJ55 Land Cruiser.. 6-Cylinder -- 4-Speed -- AC, etc..
The Cam has been replaced in this vehicle recently so the head has been rebuilt completely and it runs very well indeed..
The Body is straight and the paint is probably salvagable with a good rubbing out BUT, there are areas of rust in some lower panels of the body and floor pans..
The seat upholstery and headliner are pretty much Wasted and need replacement...
Good Tires and White Spoked Wheels..
Again, the drive train is awesome and they body is certainly very restorable -- IF you don't want to just use it...
